Minnesota Women's Hockey Off-Season 2015: #BASK

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey Off-Season 2015: #BASK

I'm assuming that Nicole Schammel will be eligible to play on Friday, given it is just an exhibition. Rules for exhibitions tend to be a bit more lax, such as teams aren't bound by a limit of 18 skaters.

I don't think so. Trying to think back on similar situations from the past, and I don't think players sitting out a season can play exhibitions either. I'm not 100% sure though.

If you are going to the exhibition game and your usual route to Ridder is University Avenue, coming from the west, find a different one! Speaking from experience, I can attest that the traffic back up due to the homecoming parade is horrendous. I plan to go way out of my way to avoid it, which will hopefully allow me to get there on time.

I-94 to Huron, or (if coming from the north on SB 35W) MN 280 to westbound University Ave (east of campus).

My usual route. Hope I can cross University and then behind / north of TCF to my usual parking spot.

But the University exit on 35w should be open...and from there I'm thinking you should be able to slip up 19th avenue to get into the streets north of Dinkytown.

My usual route. Hope I can cross University and then behind / north of TCF to my usual parking spot.

Maybe play it safe and just come in from Como and down 15th avenue.

From Ben Gotz at the Pioneer Press: Gophers enter season with depth and experience

On a related side note, yesterday was Media Day at Ridder Arena. I was really hoping to see posts from multiple media outlets, but there was nothing from the Strib nor any of the four television stations. :(

That said, Gopher Sports Update tweeted a link to the audio from the interview at the Minnesota State Fair three weeks ago featuring Coach Frost and juniors Lee Stecklein, Dani Cameranesi, Kate Schipper and Paige Haley.

Pretty cool to have this exhibition for free. This is the best sports value imaginable for your money - a super talented national championship team against some all time greats from the program - unless your last name is Trump.

whilst flipping thru the channels to find the weather report, one of the stations *mentioned* that it was media day and showed the coach & captains for about 3-4 seconds, no audio, so not nothing, but as close as you can get to nothing.

... and the local media aren't the only ones to post the wrong pictures of players, Gopher Sports got Frost, Stecklein, and Haley, but that's Ramsey & Lorence not Schipper & Cameranesi, , they posted a picture from last year.
