Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

It was a rather odd series. UW played better tonight than they did last night but they ended up losing with 47 shots and no puck luck at all. There were 5-10 chances that on normal nights usually find the net. I don't give much credit to Kengas because he didn't make any great saves, but he used the pipes and crossbar to his advantage greatly. A split isn't bad, but UW was the better team in this series and hopefully they can build on this going into the coming weeks.

I thought Bennett was awful tonight. The first goal was one of the biggest softies I've ever seen and the next 3 were mostly the defense's fault, but a good goalie has to make an amazing save on some of them. I really admired the 4th Gopher goal though. It was a pretty shot to the upper left that Patrick Roy couldn't have stopped.

Overall it was a great birthday weekend for me and I got a chance to see some good hockey. I even got wished a happy birthday by a Gopher fan at the Nitty Gritty with my balloon sticking out of my beer mug. Good times.

By the way, what was with the Kohl Center not being sold out for the Gophers game? It looked like they had more people for the CC series. I'm sure they'll be more people at the games after the new year when hockey picks up in this state, but a rather embarrassing performance by our below par hockey fan base. Hey Minnesota fans, any ideas on how to get people interested in hockey down here? Good luck until we meet again.

IIRC, it's hunting opener. Nothing you can do on that. I'm guessing that's the reason.

You can't even agree with your self. I have won, and will waste no more energy. Goodnight.

Uh, 12am Saturday comes a minute after 11:59pm on Friday. Yeah, I figured you missed the class on "time telling."

BOX. BOX. BOX.

And the quoted statement was your words, not mine.

Not in WI. Our hunting opener is the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Hey guys. Let's talk hockey. This is nonsense. Nitpicking is what people do when they are losing an argument and have to resort to technicalities. The weekend starts a 4 pm on Friday for me when I leave work and it ends on 8 am on Monday when I get back into the office. Who cares what Webster, Yahoo, Ask.com, or your mom thinks.

Ok, didn't know WI openers. My employer has a large blue-collar clientele (industrial supply) so hunting opener is just about as slow as a holiday weekend.

I was fine with my statement. It's the people who think I was wrong that are nitpicking. ;)

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

Wow, you just proved me right.

"There is no weekend." Cool. I'm right.

The weekend starts at 12am Saturday at 0000 hours (aka midnight on "Friday"). Since the game ended before "midnight Friday" it is not the weekend. BOX. BOX. BOX. :D

You obviously need sleep (if you are not drunk like you claim). You are forgetting what you write in your own posts.

Hm, in the first post I put that statement in quotes, because it was YOUR statement not mine.

And then I went into detail about time telling/realization. I think you're failing on many accounts.

Besides, I thought you were done?

Good day, sir. I said, good DAY, sir. BOX BOX BOX

As you just saw, I sent you Rep, and said I'm going to bed, but then got this message, and I had to respond :D

It doesn't matter if it was my statement or not, you quoted it to use your point, and then contradicted yourself (The cool, I'm right part, implied that you agreed with it). You are confused, and I'm really logging off now. I look forward to continuing this debate the first "weekend" in March. A home and home series, which will be interesting. I am currently planning on getting tickets to the Friday game in Madison.

Sarcasm. And pointing out the flaws in your own argument. And today is the weekend. It was Saturday (and now Sunday). WeekEND. Not DAY. :D

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

This is the stupidest argument I've seen in a while.

By definition, there is no such thing as 12am or 12pm. There is 12 noon and 12 midnight, but neither is "ante" nor "post" meridian. Just sayin'.

Either way, the game was ended during Fri night before midnight (as you say) so it's during the week. Thank you good night. Don't forget to tip your waitress. And hopefully * her. :D

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

Saturday and Sunday are weekends. My days off are Friday and Saturday, but that doesn't make Sunday a weekday.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

I absolutely loved the look on Schack's face after his goal. Hilarious.
