Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

5 game win streak and on the road no less. 37 games left. 19 at home and 18 on the road. Wild card can be done

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Got me 5 free tics for the sept 22 game against the Indians. Didn't get to see Sano back in June and I'm really looking forward to seeing him jack one out.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Houston and KC make up 9 of 12 games after today. So we'll see if we are in it to win it.

Twins have never lost with Buxton and Sano in the lineup together.

Nice jinx.

No sweep at Tampa Bay but a 6-4 road trip is more than most expected especially after the debacle in NY. The series with Houston at Target will be a fun one. 2 teams nobody thought would be relevant at this time of the year.

Miguel Sano's 3rd-inning double was calculated at 425 feet and would have been a HR at all 30 MLB ballparks had it not hit the catwalk.

Can't believe they play MLB in that dump and their lease isn't up until 2027 and the city won't let them out of it. 28,000 fans for the 3 game series.

Ummm, I don't feel like we, as Twins fans, have a right to complain.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

iirc he hit a ball that would have been out of play but instead was caught for an out and last time I checked the fans didn't build the Metrodump.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

The trop was built in 1990 I believe. It just had other names.

But, how long has it been used by MLB? The Rays didn't exist in 1990...

A quick search says 1998. So it has been used by MLB for about 17 years. We subjected MLB to the dome for longer than the Rays have subjected MLB to the Trop. Which was my original point.

But it was OUR dome so it was ok!

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Kazmir trying to gift the Twins runs, but they are resistant to scoring too many at once.

So it's only 3-0.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

I was at a Twins-Red Sox game during one of the last seasons at the dome. Ortiz hit a speaker in center field. Ground rule double.

I'm still amazed at how fast it got there, and how loud the sound was when it hit it. Of course he was full of roids at the time.
