Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I have a random thought...

I was wondering if any of you are planning a road trip to Milwaukee to see the Twins play in Wrigley North, I mean Miller Park? Let me know, because Mr. wore Black and myself will be there tailgating and watching the Twins beat the living crap out of the Brewers.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Usually I make an annual road trip out there with a couple of buddies. Not sure about it this year though... :(

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

So thinking back the only negative I could really find at Target Field is Pepsi products will be sold. Given the Pohlad family history with Pepsi this is really no surprise, but I would prefer if they sold The Real Thing instead of sweet & flat.

I love how they snuck some seats into unusual places in the outfield, especially in right field which I think will become some of the most coveted seating area.

I saw the Pepsi thing too, and I have been dreading that this would be the case. Looks like I will have to drink only booze when I'm at the games, because there is no way I'm drinking horrible tasting Pepsi.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Redundant. :)

I did see at least one (I would hope there are more) location for local brews. There is a fighting chance this place will see me shadow. :)
I don't have a need for any specific beer, I'll just get 7&7's er, 7&sierramists, or some other drink that doesn't involve mixing with Pepsi.

Actually, for non-alcoholic, it would be sweet if they would serve some 1919 Root Beer there.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I have never been more glad I gave up dark pop...Pepsi is disgusting!

On PA yesterday Lavelle was voicing some concerns about the future of this Mauer deal...mainly that next year (assuming the Twins hold firm to their $100 million budget plan) they will have half their payroll locked up in 3 guys. I was surprised he would be so honest about worries, usually its fluff pieces a plenty at this point.

This is going to be a fun year!

I read somewhere yesterday, don't remember where, that because of the size of this deal, indications are that the Pohlads are actually willing to stretch the budget more than they let on. The prediction in that article said that the Twins should be expected to have a payroll between $110 million and $115 million. I would be shocked if it actually were true.

I doubt they could ever make enough of it, but the root beer from Vine Park Brewery in St. Paul is the best root beer I've ever had.

Let's hope so because they have a lot of money out there as is and while you can replace some of the parts with farm system guys at some point they will need to make a move so there needs to at least be flexibility. But we can cross that bridge when they get there. This offseason they did everything right...they made a decades worth of moves. They really stacked it up to try and make the run this year, and I wont lie it is hard not to think they won't do it.

That stuff is awesome.

We might be able to get some Killerbrew Root Beer and I know I saw he had a restaurant or concession stand, I just can't remember if it in a location which can be accessed by a commoner.

This might sound silly, but I almost found the Span signing more encouraging than the Mauer signing. Partially because I never doubted a Mauer deal would get done.

Ugh I thought the Killebrew Root Bear was terrible...

Fat Pat's column made mention of his belief that the spending cap will be significantly higher than we think (he made mention of the numerous signings this offseason, locking up Mauer basically at market price, and adding a number of international prospects into the minor league system).

I've been trying to make this trip for at least 2 seasons now but they keep scheduling the darn series during the week

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Guess who just scored tickets to opening weekend against the Red Sox! Thats right, this guy!
I got a hint this morning that very limited amount of tickets for the Wednesday game were released on twinsbaseball.com, so I went there, and sure enough, I got 2 tickets for section 124 row 12. Bought and paid for, being shipped to me within a week. :D :D :D

Who wants to go to the game with me?

edit: I guess it isn't the weekend :p

And if it rains Monday and Tuesday, you'll be at the Target Field opener!
