Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I don't know if there's a better org that has present and former players connecting with the fans in person. Whether it be on/off the field at the park, nearby venues, television, and I've always been impressed with the number of former players that are involved in one way or another.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Then he miraculously gives up nothing. :D

Target Field effing rules. Met and shook Ron Coomer's hand as he was jumping over the wall by left field after the instructional. Just walking from gate 6 to first ave. I accumulated four (4) free drink coupons, all for different bars. Awesome. Just awesome.

The Drink at 3:00pm after a Twins game = crazy drunk attractive sluts.
So you're saying you want to go back down there tomorrow night? I'm thinking of going. I don't have tickets, but I'll scout out scalpers, if I can find some good tickets for a reasonable price I'll go to the game, otherwise I'll just hang out downtown.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I am down to go to any game. I am one of those people that has never been to an outdoor MLB game before. Holy crap it is amazing.

I've heard it's pretty easy get tickets outside the stadium, although for a Friday night game it might be slightely different even if the opponent is KC. :)

I'll be there on Sat.

Well, I wasn't that bad, I'd been to 2 outdoor games before yesterday. :p

Miller Park once, the roof was open, and I got to go to Wrigley once, which was awesome.

I'm thinking of going down there after work, at about 5:00. Probably parking at the Northstar rail line and taking the train in. Then I'll just stay down there for the night and take a cab home. If you want to go, let me know, it would be fun if we could get a decent group to go. Like I said, I'd like to go to the game, but I'm not paying big scalper prices.

It is old, but it still rules.

I'd be in...I don't work again until Tuesday. :D

Awesome. We just need to get SoH to agree now :D

I'm thinking if we all meet here at about 4:30, we could take one car to the rail station, which is only about 5 minutes away. Then all take a cab back here after we're done. We can all crash here.

Brent, meet us down there? (I know you're probably going to be working)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I will be there tomorrow...night game after a day game is a good way to end the week.

BTW $1.75 to bus it from my place...you gotta love that :D

Having been to almost all the bars downtown in the area now (minus Smalley's since the change) I can say I would not be caught dead at Drink. Trust me the slutty Twins fans are everywhere :D

Oh and the Breakfast Burrito at the new Huberts is really good :)

Why not Sat's game? The park'n'ride by my place runs busses 2 hours and on before the game, and until one hour after? Or, for you guys, both games?

Edit: or cab back after the game. Crash here, etc etc.

Well, I'm thinking we'll be down there. Hopefully the 3 of us that seem interested can make it, maybe others can be attracted. I'm really looking forward to a pre-game happy hour drinking/baseball game/post-game drinking night. It will be a damm good time.

I might be able to do Saturday night too. I just didn't have anything tomorrow night so I was trying to find something for tomorrow before worrying about Saturday.

And I have no clue what I have going tomorrow, due to my doc's appt before work. I might not even make the event that I mentioned on FB.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Just some more info, if we end up going down there tomorrow.

The train up here in Fridley leaves the station heading downtown at 5:34. I'd say if we want to take the train, we should be at the station by 5:25, to make sure we actually get on the dang thing.

Pre-game/happy hour, Sneaky Pete's has some great specials, $2 appetizers, $2 rails, $3 beer.

I am thinking that it would work to wait until the game starts and then try to pick up tickets from the scalpers when they're trying to dump them, hopefully we can get a good deal.

I don't know how interested you guys are in going down there, other than it sounds like Brent won't be able to make it tomorrow, but possibly could Saturday. If anyone else is interested in hanging out, downtown before/after the game, we can meet up somewhere.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

This team and this year... I'm not very good at "positive thinking," but I'm seeing good things being done each and every day with this team.* There are still things to be done, but it is hard to ignore the potential.

Great start. Keep winning each series = success. Keep that up!

Sure, there will probably be a few losing streaks, but I'm so wide eyed at this team, I'm even anxious to see how they rebound from those. There might be excuses later, but as of now, I see nothing but potential. As a fan of Minnesota sports franchises, how am I supposed to react to this? Seriously...

Christ, it is still April! How am I supposed to get anything done between now and October!?!?

*Minus the RISP Fail (TM) with the bases loaded--which, even then gives me "hope" as this lineup should fix that given enough time. I just "hope" it happens at the right time(s).

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I am down, I am pretty sure I can make this work. There is a chance we don't get on the train. About half of the people at the Fridley station weren't able to get on today. They sent a bus to take them down there.

We can always drive too, it would be a bigger pain in the *** to go get the car in the morning downtown, but it wouldn't be the end of the world. If you just want to be over at my place at 5, we can go from there. Shirtless mentioned that he might go too, but we'll have to wait for him to chime in to see for sure. :p

The team has got the potential. Besides the offense, how many errors have they made? Is it just 1?

It'll be a fun summer.

I like what we've seen from the starting pitcher too. They did just win a series against the Red Sox with their 3-4-5 starting pitchers starting.
