Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Is it raining?

EDIT: We heard this field has an awesome drainage system. Now we get to find out if it's true.

I heard that it can rain about an inch up to about an hour before game time and that game won't be postponed, it would be nearly dry.

I am going tomorrow! w00t!

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

At least there were two outs when they loaded them up.

This team better figure out how to not strand so many runners soon. I am impatient with such things. :)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Cuddyer hits a homer and then Delmon hits a double.

6-3 Boston, bottom of the 8th.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I'm getting really effing tired of pop-ups to the second baseman.

Maybe we should let them score a few times so we don't out a complete ratard's stats. :D

Edit: Eat a dick, GB Leighton.

Mijares is up in the bullpen. The White Flag has been thrown.

Just like at Target Field with the bronze statues, Old Country Buffet will be unveiling bronze statues of Jose Mijares, Boof Bonser, Matthew LeCroy, and Dennys Reyes.

We even got the doorknob on a crappy day. Still left two on, no runs.

Sucks. We can only get 159 wins now, unless we play another 163 game season.

The concern is this team is not built like the Twins of old. This team needs to score runs and lots of them this year if they're going to have any success. Pitching and defense is not this teams strong suit anymore.

That being said. Point taken.

I don't think the piching is as big of a liability as you think, but time will tell.

And as sketchy as he's been, I don't get warming Mijares up only to not bring him against the lefty for Crain.

Well, stinks we lost the game, but the ballpark was great. I had to wait until the 7th inning for the line at the Kramarczuk's booth to go down to get my brat, but it was worth the wait. It's was delicious.

There were the people with the "this wouldn't happen at the Dome" comments when it was raining, but I think it was more sarcasm than anything (I hope).

The guy one section over yelling "RALLYCAPS!" as loud as he could in the ninth was annoying as well.

But, highlight of the trip was the train ride back to Anoka. We got on the train heading South and it was packed. I'm shocked we found room for the people at the Fridley station. It was SRO at the Anoka station already.

Lighter crowd going North, but this (drunk) girl locked herself in the bathroom and the train and couldn't get out. She was freaking out and cursing like a sailor, until she finally realized how the unlock the door. She promptly left the area once she got out. The 7 year old who went in after her had no such issues.

I did find the gray away jerseys with the script Minnesota on the chest at the Pro Shop...$230! Insane, and not even a name on the back. Guess I won't be getting one of those right now.

MLB Shop has the grey away with name for $185.

Ditto.

:p

Didn't take the train, parked over towards the dome and walked through downtown. It wasn't a bad walk at all.

I thought it was hilarious when people started cheering the rain in my section, the first time it started sprinkling.

We had a Red Sox fan in front of us. He was quiet, didn't even cheer when the Sox did something good. The drunk guys next to him and behind him were hilarious ripping on him. The one guy kept ripping on him about Babe Ruth, because apparently that is the only thing he could think of. :p

Also had a very drunk, what appeared to be an ex/current stripper in front of us. She was giving the drunk guys ripping on the Sox fan lap dances, until her boyfriend got fed up with it and told her that he'd take her to the Vu for lap dances.

Went to Smalley's after the game, it was busy, but not too bad. had a burger that was OK, nothing too great, but I thought the prices were good.

I'm thinking of going back down there Friday night after work. Drinking, probably walking over to the park right at first pitch to see if I can get tickets from scalpers for under face. Anyone else want to go?
