Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I'm going to give away a good secret that I used last year a couple of times. I parked on Franklin Avenue, on the street at the light rail station and took that in.

I may try it again next week...Or, I'm going to park by city hall and get on the rail or walk. The meters were enforced there until 6 PM.

It makes me nervous parking so close to the light rail station, that the trains will be so packed by the time they get that far, that I'll end up waiting or walking.

I never had a problem at Franklin Avenue, not many people get on there as there's no parking lot. If you're at City Hall, it's an easy walk. I've done it from the bars on 1st Avenue.

Or you can park just south of the ballpark near Catholic Charities on Currie Ave.

How big is your truck & what the hell are you compensating for? :p :D
It is completely stock! For now...

I think I would just walk, rather than getting on the rail that close. I don't mind walking a little bit, as long as I'm there in plenty of time.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Parking downtown is $15 for event parking in Ramp C...NorthStar Commuter Rail is $8 a person...my coworker wants to take NorthStar, I want to drive and see what we can find.

I'm doing Northstar. We can get a family pack (2 adults plus up to 3 kids) for $10 round trip. Seems like a steal of a deal to me. Stops right there in Anoka for me.

I don't drink coffee, but I'm Feeling good, Louis!

Nice reference Billy Ray! :p

Driving downtown is actually pretty easy these days and I think Minneapolis making Hennepin and First Both 2 ways was actually quite brilliant...that is right Minneapolis and MNDOT did something right!

Not that I care about traffic, I live in Uptown I am an 11 dollar cab ride from the stadium :D

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

My parents took the train from the Coon Rapids station yesterday, said it worked great. They departed at 1:44, and were at the ballpark at 2:10.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I found out you can park at Hopkins Crossroad and 394 and bus it right to the stadium. Should be an easy ride.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

-I could really do without that gumba Laudner on Twins Live.
They already have Robby and Anthony on it -- how much lower can Timmy really drop the product? They would be better off with a postgame that is half as long: get a couple player interviews; show the highlights w/ wrapup by Dick and Bert; have Gardy's presser and the opposing manager if it is somebody entertaining like Ozzie; preview the next game in 30 seconds. We don't need Anthony getting 10 minutes of airtime, Pick-to-Stick, or Bert clowning around on the field. Coomer isn't bad in terms of what he says, but he is darn near as out of breath as Gardy. I'm afraid one of them will have a heart attack on air.:(

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

With where my buddy is driving from and the times we want to get there and leave, we just figured that driving would be best this time. I researched online where there are 10 hour parking meters, that are somewhat cheap, so we're going to give them a try, if not there, we'll try to find a cheaper lot about a 15 minute walk away.

Yep. Only thing I don't like is the post-game times, but understand it. Only an hour or so after the game ends. If it were a regular bus service for say, 3-4 hours after game time, that would rule. You know, in case you want a post-game brew or two.

Pregame is good though, as it is up to two hours before game time.

$7 is the cost, I think, round trip. I got some mailer on it.

That place is only 1-2 miles from my place. :)

Did post game Monday at Cuzzy's. A guy there said he parked there on 2nd Avenue at meters like that and they were 50¢ a half hour. The ramp I parked in on 10th Ave. N and Washington was about a 15 minute walk and it ended up costing me $4.

I don't mind LaPanta one bit and the negativity around him is way overdone.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Slowey is going to have 100 pitches by the 4th inning at this rate.

Royals lead the Tigers but they have coughed up big leads the last few days.

Cue the "we should have had a roof" weenies. :D :p ;)

Sitting here, protected from the rain. 30 degrees colder and my snow prediction would've been right.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Here's an idea for speeding up the game...

David Ortiz sucks. Instead of spending 10 minutes to fix the field before pitching to him w/ 2 outs, get the one-pitch out and then take care of the field between half innings. Simple :)
