Tied with the Yankees, 0.5 games back of the Rays. :)

That's just incredible to read. Also:

Morneau out for a while with concussion issues? No problem. Joe Nathan? Who needs him? This team just amazes me something fierce.

Anyone else get to see Souhan's article today? I liked what it had to say, it doesn't sound like the Twins are looking at anything short of a World Series win this year.

What was everyone's thoughts about Pavario-Mauer? Obviously they're trying to get them working well with each other so BabyJesus can play every day in the playoffs, instead of using Butera as Pavario's personal catcher. BabyJesus is going to have to start throwing out some guys at 2nd, like Butera did, with Pavario on the mound or the Rays are going to destroy Pavario on the basepads.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

I don't think Pavario is going to throw a perfecto...
He could just give up solo-HR each time he decides to give up a hit.

Or a hit and have the guy get caught trying to stretch it an extra base. :D

In all seriousness, base runners mean nothing if you do your job with the guy at the plate. You just need to avoid clogging up the bases when there is 0-1 outs. That's when stealing bases becomes most effective.

I just think it is something the coaches need to keep an eye on. If things don't go right, the Rays will eat him alive and they'll have that much less of a chance to get out of jams. Hopefully it doesn't end up being a big deal.

No rest until we get home field. Playing at Target Field could be huge in the postseason.

Especially if we play Texas.

Twins vs. Yankees at Target Field, 1-2. Runs for 10, runs against 6
Twins vs. Yankees at Yankee Stadium, 1-2. Runs for 11, runs against 18

Twins vs. Tampa Bay at Target Field, 1-3. Runs for 16, runs against 21
Twins vs. Tampa Bay at Tropicana, 2-2. Runs for 16, runs against 17

Twins vs. Texas at Target Field, 6-0. Runs for 38, Runs against 19
Twins vs. Texas at Arlington, 1-3. Runs for 12, Runs against 15

Twins complete sweep of Sox

Comment from a classy Chicagoan...

The Sox should have BURIED Joe Mauer - I mean season ending injury buried Mauer - after the Twins pitcher threw at Konerko's head. With the season over anyway, maybe Ozzie could have made a statement about not letting other teams physically intimidate the Sox. But the message that went out is that teams can fire at the Sox' best player and not worry about retribution.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Well, you're talking about a fan base that produced two trailer-trash meth-heads that jumped out of the stands and attacked an umpire. Expecting class out of White Sox fans is like expecting Stevie Wonder to "look out".

I thought it was the Royals 1st base coach?
