It was. I had it in my head that it was Laz Diaz. But my point still holds.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Especially if we play Texas.

Twins vs. Yankees at Target Field, 1-2. Runs for 10, runs against 6
Twins vs. Yankees at Yankee Stadium, 1-2. Runs for 11, runs against 18

Twins vs. Tampa Bay at Target Field, 1-3. Runs for 16, runs against 21
Twins vs. Tampa Bay at Tropicana, 2-2. Runs for 16, runs against 17

Twins vs. Texas at Target Field, 6-0. Runs for 38, Runs against 19
Twins vs. Texas at Arlington, 1-3. Runs for 12, Runs against 15

Well, we have to beat Tampa or NY to play Texas in the postseason, so that doesn't really matter.

Boston has closed to within 6 games of the Yanks. With their injury situation, I don't get the feeling the BoSox are a realistic threat, but then NY hasn't been their usual juggernaut self of late either. Doesn't change your no Tex/Min first-round match-up comment in any case.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

I thought it was the Royals 1st base coach?
Rusty Kuntz?

BTW, that cuddy at-bat was awful. How can he take a fastball down the middle with two strikes? What happened to protecting the plate?

I thought it was before him, but I can't say for sure.

Twins look flat. Luckily Blackburn seems to have good stuff.

7th inning: single, walk, infield single. Bases full w/ two outs and Mauer will PH. At least he can't GIDP here with two outs. :p

... and he pops out to short left against Breslow. Wonderful.

The Twins remain winless at Target Field with me in the stands.

Who wants to pay me to not buy postseason tickets? :D ;)

Question for you Twins fans. I noticed Opening Day 2011 is during the Friday of the Frozen Four next year. Are Opening Day tickets somewhat manageble to get on the street before the game or should I try and get them when they go on sale? Any help here?

Good luck. If you buy them on the street, they will be very expensive and I'm guessing they will sell out opening day very, very quickly.

Before Target Field yes. With Target Field it will be not easy/expensive.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Last year tickets to the opener(just like playoff tickets now) are available if you enter in their lottery. They never opened them to the public. You should be able to get some from Stub Hub or on the street though. I won tickets to this year's opener and the two seats next to me were empty.

You might want to set up a hot key for that phrase; this year, it would get a lot of use.

He was probably sitting on a slider in the dirt.

I thought Gardy should have PH Mauer for Repko because they had just brought the RHP in. If you can't hit Breslow in an inning plus, you're not going to win. It kind of makes you wonder how bare our minor leagues must be if they don't have some big slug on the bench for these situations. Usually, they've had a bigger guy like Restovich they could bring up who would at least look menacing in the on deck circle, if not at the plate. They can't afford too many games like this one if they want any shot at best record.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Congratulations on officially eliminating the Detroit Tigers from postseason consideration.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

So my fantasy team would prefer if the Twins would maybe drop tomorrows game. They really don't need the win that badly. If they could get shut out, at least while the starter for Oakland was in that would be even better. :o

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Never root against your own team for the sake of fantasy teams. That's just dumb.

While the Twins have the division pretty well wrapped up, they are still in a battle for homefield in the playoffs. They'll at least have a shot at knocking out the Yanks or Rays if they get three games here.

I'm not really rooting against them of course. But I still want us to both win championships this season. :D

Can't I root for both.
