Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

It's just like wow, this team has a 4 game lead and yet none of us really feel like they do. It's like we're all waiting for them to just fail.
We saw how fast that 9 (10?) game lead over the Sox became a 4 1/2 game deficit earlier this summer. Then it went the other direction again. Two streaky teams, so leads can disappear in a hurry.

So are you two TC sport fans watching the first few drives of the Vikes game before switching to the Twins game? Or do you all just have 2 TV's side-by-side?

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Is there a reason to watch preseason football when the starters leave the game?

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

That is one of the best ABs I have seen all year. Sucks he got tagged out but a HELL of an at bat for cuddy.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Good at-bat followed by a boneheaded baserunning play.

What good does it do to go for a triple with two outs?

Most hits score a runner from 2nd with 2 outs.

He was either a) rounding 2nd thinking that throw was going through to home, or b) didn't think the 3rd runner would score even on a relay throw so he purposely got hung up to let the run get in.

Edit. Beat me to B. That's what I was thinking.

I don't think it's likely that B applied in that situation. He drove it to the wall, there were 2 outs, and the runners are going on contact. If you can't score from 1st on a 2 out drive to one of the deepest parts of the park, you're either not running full speed, or you're Jim Thome. :p

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Maybe Cuddy was having flashbacks seeing Kubel thrown out at home yesterday? Twins baserunning -- it can be difficult to fathom. Anyway, important to get the win when "good Baker" is pitching, because who knows when he'll be heard from again.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

He may have thought there was no one covering third base because he started to let up at the base, looked to third when he rounded it and took off. The other thing is Ulger may have been waving Kubel home and Cuddy thought it was for him. Or, he's a knothead.

Watching Hudson play 2nd is worth the price of admission, he cracks me up.

Rich Harden has 50 walks in 74 innings...that is so horrid there is no way to spin it!

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Man, he was BEGGING for "one more inning" He's ****ed. You could just read his lips as he was saying it.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

The Twins batters are embarrassing to watch this game...

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

How could you fall asleep during such a riveting game?

I have never watched a no hitter beginning to end, I really dont want to...
