Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Shhhh...dx was never one to let the facts get in the way of a good argument ;)

He was too busy looking up who Wally Pipp was to really comprehend what Handy was saying.

You two can blow me

What a shock, many people enjoy it so Handy thinks it sucks.

Never waited for more than a couple of minutes either, not sure what you are doing wrong there.

Exactly. I think the only time I had to wait more than a minute or two was opening day. Hell, most of the time it's just walk up, get your food, and leave.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

I am not doing anything wrong, I went to the upper deck stand where there is never a line. I would then eat it and walk back and laugh at the sheep in the other line since it was on the way to my season seats. (I believe they have now added a third stand which makes the line easier) I used to be back in my seat while the same schmucks sat there missing the game :D

I love the reading comprehension skills of the people in this thread. Tell me exactly where I said it sucks in my one word post that said "overrated". What? I didn't...funny. Once again though, never let the facts get in the way of a good argument though eh SOH ;) :D

I said they were above average...not worth the circle jerk a lot of people give them. If that means they suck then guess what, you are above average too :D ;) :p

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

I am a Gopher fan. Above average = crap. Yes, the Gophers have been worse than crap lately.

I don't think they are super awesome either, but better than the other hot dog/brat options at that place. Also, the Murray's steak sandwich is stupid. Don't waste $10.50 on that.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Yeah my friend got the Murray's Steak Sandwich, there is almost no meat on that thing!

To be honest I dont buy much at the ballpark but the meatball sandwich at the Townball Tavern is AWESOME! First game I went to almost lucked into free dinner at the Metropolitan Club as I walked in right before it was ending...I didnt want to cause trouble for my friend who has the tickets in her name so I didnt try anything.

Personally, I prefer a drink at Kieron's and Jameson Chicken Sandwich. Then I bring a flask to the game and my expenses are cut by half! (if not 2/3!)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

What are the odds you'll see a Casilla home run and an Ichiro strike out in the same game?
Didn't Ichiro have a game in our last Seattle series where the Twins starter (Slowey? or Baker?) struck him out his first 3 ABs? Apparently Suzuki is much harder to walk than K.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Tori Hunter playing in Target Field; Boy I sure do miss him.

He's lost a step, hence the move to right field. Hard to say if he would be the odd man out between Young, Kubel and Cuddyer for the other outfield positions.

<--- is going to Sunday's game.

Just saw the replay of Kubel's homer...dam he hit that a long way.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

I was at the game last night...and yes the second he hit that ball you knew it was gone!

Remember when people wanted the Twins to trade for Haren ;)

Thome's triple was like watching a three legged dog run after a stick :p

I'd still take that trade. You can never have enough pitching in the playoffs.

The Twins have enough pitchers that can give up double digit his and 7 runs in 3 innings thank you very much!

btw - anyone tried scalping at Target yet this year? Thinking about brining the boys down for their first game if I think we can get 3 tix for less than $100.

Stubhub has some nosebleeds in the HR Porch for 33.99 a piece. Factored out that's close to 100 bucks.

I've done it. You'll have a tough time finding 3 seats for under $100. You can usually find standing room tickets for between $30 and $40 each, so if you go that route you might get it done for less than $100.

I called that homer. I was watching Gametracker at work and said to one of the guys "they just intentionally walked Mauer to get to Kubel. That's could be trouble."
