This win makes me very happy. not only do we avoid the sweep but we finally hit a home run. Longest HR drought since 1993.

Rarrr! Why don't the Twins win by 6 every night? We should be undefeated!

i dont get to see the twins often (didnt tonight either).. but i'm a fan of nick blackburn based on past years' fantasy leagues.. but looking at his stats - he seems to be smoke and mirrors. i think he is a ground ball pitcher? he gets so few K's and his whip isnt great. he might be the worst 6-1 pitcher ever in that regard. how does he do it??

I'd ask Greg Maddux. He'd probably be the authority on that style. ;)

He is a groundball pitcher. I would say the Twins defense plays a major role in how he does. Also he has had good run support. Not sure on what the stats are compared to other Twins pitchers but my guess is they are higher.

i guess it makes sense.. wang won 19 games two years in a row for NY.. his K/9 was 4.8. blackburn's career looks to be about 4.2. pretty similar styles in terms of sinker ball pitchers too (era+ of 107 vs 102)

good for him

Ihaven't paid attention, but I guess this is as good as any time to ask....where is Wang? Honestly. He was one of the exceptions to my "No Yankees" rule in FBL (picked him up on Day One, and had him the next year, and then no more by choice).

Pretty much. When the other team hits it near someone, Blackburn wins. When they hit gaps, the bad thing happens.
