Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Doing so many games with Morgan has probably rubbed off on him too...

I can't imagine ESPN Sunday Night Baseball gets much viewership [at least with the volume on] outside of the teams involved. We are collectively stupider having to listen to Joe Morgan...

Nice wheels, Kubes :p  ;)

I was selfishly rooting for the Twins to not score and keep the save in tact for Rauch. My fantasy team could use the save. :)

Actually it probably gets a lot of viewership. As it is the only game on in that time slot.

I hope you don't regret that later...

I suppose; though, I'm a huge sports/baseball fan and I can't stand watching it and will usually seek out something else thanks to Joe Morgan. I guess that is where muting the volume works well--like at a bar with music on in the background :)

Span and Hudson go lower leg to lower leg, and Hudsons glove hand hits Span in the man parts.

That entire sequence looked painful.

I was covered. If Rauch gave up a run, Duensing was coming in and I have his as well. :D

The slo-mo looked like knee-to-knee, but early player sound bites make it sound like they both got it in the twigs and berries  Appears they will be okay.

SWEEP!

Hudson injured in scary ninth-inning collision
Span makes final catch as players converge in center field

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins' 6-3 win over the Rangers on Sunday night came to an end on a scary collision between center fielder Denard Span and second baseman Orlando Hudson that may have resulted in an injury to Hudson's left hand.

Later in article...

Hudson's left arm hit Span below the belt during the collision, and Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said that Hudson, who declined comment after the game, was undergoing X-rays on his left hand. It's the same hand/wrist that Hudson dislocated back in August 2008, an injury that required surgery.

Oh Joe Morgan, how can you say such dumb things?

He finds it interesting that the Twins are a small market team but have a higher payroll than the Dodgers.

Really Joe? Do you think that has anything to do with the Dodgers owner going through a messy divorce in which his ownership of the team could be in question.

Also Joe did you notice the Twins have a new stadium this season? I hear that brings in more revenue.

Joe Morgan's a retard. Look at guys on that roster. They are being vastly underpaid. All one needs to do is look at guys like Matt Kemp and see why they have such a tiny payroll.

But back in the day when he played for "The Big Red Machine" things were a little bit different...

My buddy and I play a game where we take other sports or movies or whatever and try to turn them into Joe Morgan quotes...we usually do that in conjuction with our mocking of PA. Sometimes we have PA talking to Joe Morgan and lets just say it can get really funny :D

Um... Micheal Cuddyer is playing 2nd base tonight. Yup.

Potentially wicked lineup for the Mariners to deal with, though: Thome, Kubes, Cuddy and Young. Their pitching has been pretty good, though, so there is that.

All I can think of when I hear this pitcher's name is:

Fister?!? Hardly knew her!

If only Chip Carey were in the booth. TBS isn't doing a game tonight--I think FSN should call him at home to get in on this :D

haha. Though, TBS lost me when I discovered Ron Darling last year during the playoffs. Easily the single worst announcer in sportscasting history. No, I'm not at all overstating things.

Ron Darling is a great announcer for the Mets. He's just not good without a lot of prep time.

You're insane, btw. Chip Carey is much worse.
