Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Ron Darling is a great announcer for the Mets. He's just not good without a lot of prep time.

You're insane, btw. Chip Carey is much worse.

Probably. But it's part of his job to do research before the series. I can excuse it if it's a thing like last year where we didn't know until like 8 pm the previous night who would be playing. I can excuse the first game for that, but anything after that? To say he is not good without prep is an understatement. :D

Now Dick nearly jinx's the Twins error total. But I guess they aren't giving one since the out at 2nd was recorded.

I have no idea who that is.

White Sox announcer, infamous for his catch phrases "He gone" after a K, and "You can put in on the boooooooooooooooarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd! YES!" after a HR.

Well, there isn't a white sox announcer that has any credibility so yeah...

Is it just me or does Mike Sweeney look like a video game batter when in his stance waiting for the pitch?

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

I'll see your Chip Carey and raise you Joe Morgan...

I like both there styles of announcing actually. They don't say much and let the play tell the story. Bremer and Blyleven talk too much about useless crap. Dick Stockton's good too. I don't like Buck on NFL games though.

...

Joe Buck? Not say much? The guy never shuts up! Same thing with Joe Morgan.

Granted neither of them actually talk about the play, Buck talks about inane stuff and Morgan won't stop talking about himself.

I like Dick/Bert because it's like hanging out at the game with some knowledgable friends. They call the game, have some insight, and also shoot the breeze. It's the same reason I like listening to Doug And The Rug for Gopher hockey.

I'm in the same boat as you. Unfortunately FSN is run by retards so we don't get frank OR doug next year... We get Anthony "Joe Buck" LaPanta.

I used to enjoy it too, Doug had great stories, but in the last year or two it seemed as if he slipped a little bit and he'd get lost in his own stories. I may buy the Bemidji B2 package next year as I can't stand LaPanta or Shaver.

Yeah, I can't listen to the radio at all.

And Anthony "Fake Newscaster Voice" LaPanta drives me up the wall.
