I did not see the original signature but when I read "previous posts of a ridicules nature by a particular poster" I immediately thought of he who shall not be named. Then I saw the Fox news thing and thought maybe it was Ted Knight (loved your work in the Mary Tyler Moore show and Caddyshack btw). With the recent change to the signature? I'd have to see the original signature to verify my first impression.

Anyone get to the fair for the GWH segment? I couildn't make it...wondering which players were there.

I went. Lee Stecklein, Meghan Lorence, Rachel Ramsey and Paige Haley were there along with Coach Frost. It was nice.

What's the prediction for the defensive corps this year…with a year extra experience and trading Gillanders for Stecklein and Baldwin?

I thought Gillanders played exceptionally well as a senior in particular, and especially throughout the 2nd half. Still expect the return of Lee S to compensate for the departure of Gillanders...to say the least. Add Baldwin and the experience you mention and I think the D is fortified in comparison to a very good group in 2013-2014.

Baldwin is another player I'm really looking forward to watching advance to the D-I level.

Me too! Expect some typical freshman mistakes early on, including a few costly ones. But it's a safe prediction that by mid-season she'll be fully adjusted to the pace at the D1 level, and by playoff time she'll be very solid defensively and will bring a lot to the offense as well. Very smart, heady player who has a knack for making great passes to the right player at the right time.

Thanks for the correction. It's what I get for doing the quote by hand. Jeepers, I even looked at and thought it didn't look right.

Would you mind saying what the original quote was btw?

Has anybody heard if Amanda Kessel is back or not for her senior year? I see she's not registered for school and the U is in their second week already.

Edit: Took out the link to her listing in the U directory - has her address & phone number on it!

Don't know what to tell you... She's still listed on the roster, nothing has been mentioned either way on her Twitter account, and the Power Play Club has a locker sponsor for her locker.

I pulled the directory, it says enrollment: Summer 2014... that's weird.

You would think this news would have come out, no? This is the second time someone on the board has hinted at Kessel not playing.

Someone has to use their sources to figure out what's up. Where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

If true... doubt you would see anything from the Rodent faithful;)
but yes... appears there are indicators that would suggest.

I'm hearing a few other rumblings from off the forum that suggest that Kessel has indeed retired.

I guess we'll know for sure by early October...if unconfirmed between now and then.

It's a very disappointing possibility to me. All GWH fans I'm sure...but certainly not unprecedented.* Not returning post Olympics that is. If true, a guess would be that health was a factor.

Wall, Wendell, Darwitz...

* At Minnesota anyway.

Without Kessel? This team will still be very good. I am interested to see if the sophomore class, besides Cameranesi, has progressed. Certainly some potential for improvement there. The freshmen class should be a solid group and it will be interesting to see where they fit into the lineup.
