Re: Minnesota Gopher 2012 offseason thread

For those of you too young to realize, just weren't aware, or are skeptical of exactly how huge of an impact guys like John Mariucci and Herb Brooks were to hockey in the state of Minnesota and this country, read this article by Let's Play Hockey.

<a href="http://www.letsplayhockey.com/todays-top-story/1013-where-have-you-gone-herb-brooks.html">Read Article</a>

You don't need to be from Minnesota, and you certainly don't need to like the Gophers, to respect these guys. They are in not only the US Hockey Hall of Fame, but also the Hockey Hall of Fame, for good reason. They should be respected, especially now that they are deceased.

Re: Minnesota Gopher 2012 offseason thread

Actually, I more pity you than I am mad. As for FS23, the guy knows what he is. He'd apologize for Adolf Hitler personally if it made UND look good.
You pity me? For what? I don't know if I am well liked around here but I think the only person I have seriously ****ed off is uaafanblog. You and him are pretty much in the same boat IMO hahahaha. I hate sue fans as much as the next guy, but FS23 is as good as they come. I think he figured out what gets you going and keeps pressing those same buttons over and over and over again because you fall for it every time! hahahahahaha

Wow I never realized who these guys really were, you've really opened my eyes. I'm taking the rest of the day off to sit by the lake and contemplate my existence and how I can strive to be a better person, husband, and eventually a gopher fan so I can join you in enlightening the world.

Yes, I pity you because you don't seem to have the moral framework to understand that some things just shouldn't be exploited for your enjoyment on the Internet.

And FS23 doesn't bother me. I enjoy pointing out all his back-handed compliments and deceptive lack of objectivity. But that is a whole other discussion :)

The fact that you even mentioned the Gophers clearly demonstrates that you either didn't read the article or are incapible of understanding it. Either way, it's unfortunate. It's a great article that transcends college allegiances.

You seem to not understand...its the internet, there are no lines to cross. Anything goes. This boat sailed long ago, and there's no going back now.

Re: Minnesota Gopher 2012 offseason thread

Good afternoon everyone! What a glorious day it is to stop in for a daily dose of everything Gopher hockey related. No better place for it, am I right? Especially since the puck drops less than 50 days from now.

But why all the long faces and eye rolling? Wait, we're talking about what?... Nazis, whizzing, and general offenses made to our illustrious Gopher leaders? Oh, of course. I can see all that totally relevent. Please, don't let me interefere. Continue at your leisure. :D :p :D :p

Oh, of that I am well aware. Hence my comment about why this country is a hot mess.

This country is in a hot mess because of The Sioux? I thought the indian problem was settled in the 1800s. I need to watch the news more.

Not because of the Sioux... but maybe because of the Whioux?

I already said this in the UND thread but a very merry lawn mower and elevator season to all of you!

Krisptoes, are you listenin'
In the slot pucks are whistlin'
What a beautiful sight
6 goals and 1 fight
It's hockey with some drunks and a band!

Was a Nazi sympathizer who had a portait of himself painted in a Nazi uniform and named it "To Adolf From Ralph".

Don't forget that Marriucci also wore coats made out of table cloths.

Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it so you could say he was really more concerned about another world war or holocaust happening. Am I reaching? Maybe, but if you can do it so can I right? However, we all know that plausible deniability and the benefit of the doubt are courtesies you only extend to your personal heroes and opinions.....d0uche.

"Plausible deniability"????

The guy had a portrait of himself painted in a Nazi uniform and named it "To Adolf From Ralph". Take a second and let that sink in.

Now, what was it you were saying about "plausible deniability"? Because what you're suggesting isn't a reach, it's a huge leap of faith at best and blind alligiance at worst.

Again, this isn't Minnesota vs North Dakota. In fact, Ralph was a Minnesotan. It's about honoring those who deserve it and not honoring those who don't.
