I am because dx is acting like Mel Pearson is a perfect parallel to Bob Motzko despite the fact that Motzko coached at the U of M for 4 seasons and Pearson was at Michigan for 23. And Pearson had 6 years at the helm of Tech vs. 13 for Bob at SCSU. And Pearson was coaching in a conference where you can win the regular season title and still miss the NCAA tournament vs. being in the best conference in college hockey that can get 5-6 teams into the tournament. I am glad our coach is in demand and understand there is a possibility he leaves. It's just funny after all the years of derision from Gopher fans about our program being dogcrap, they now want our coach and some of them are delusional enough to think it's a sure thing.

Nah, maybe in college hockey circles minny is looked upon as a terrific program (I am not saying that you are not an outstanding college hockey program) but to claim that you are like 'bama, Auburn, and other Blue blood schools is absurd. I will say that you are most likely superior to both 'bama and Auburn academically but they are light years ahead of you on the football field. While you have an outstanding hockey program you are only centuries ahead of their (I assume) club programs.

Yea Tech fans are delusional. They're the reason why I am as red as I am. They didn't like it when I provided them with legitimate proof that Pearson was leaving Tech for Michigan.

As far as Motzko goes I have no idea or opinion on that subject. It is a similar situation only in the aspect that Motzko is coaching at his alma mater, nothing else is close.

Sounds like someone's got their panties in a bunch over the prospect of Bloated Bobby moving 70 miles south.

Don't worry, I don't think he's gonna get a call.
MN will figure out some reason to give Lucia a light warning and another year to underachieve.

That's what he was referring to. Even those of that are huge UM fans know our place on the national stage for FB is backstage at best.

Here's the way I look at it. You could make a list of the names of every single hockey coach in the U.S. at the level of D-1 head coach or lower. If any one of those persons was offered the MN job, there are probably 5-10 who would pause, but then say "thanks but no thanks." I'd put guys like Montgomery, Berry, Quinn, Pearson, Granato and York in that category.

You might have another 5-7 who would consider it, but due to their current situation it is probably a coin flip over whether they'd take the job. I'd put Motzko in that group.

Everyone else takes it.

Yeah he is definitely someone the U should be looking at. Winning in the WCHA isn't as tough as winning in the NCHC but he's a lot more dominant against that competition as well.

Can you be an apologist as I have been and still want him gone?

I've apologized too many times and while I don't believe what's happening is all Lucia's fault, but I've finally had my opinion changed. If a coaching change will put some life back in the program then just do it.
