Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey: 2011-2012 Season Thread

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey: 2011-2012 Season Thread

That may be it in NCAA history, but the Mleczko/Botterill/Shewchuk line put up huge numbers for Harvard back in 1998-99. The problem with many lines is that they don't play together all of the time, like the Knight/Decker/Duggan line last year, where Knight was often on another line.

Thank you. Yes, and MLK was moved to D last weekend with Slavin injured so I guess there cannot be a concrete record, but was just wondering how dominant this line was compared to others..

If they have 102 now, they'd be on pace for around 255. Given how tough the league is this year, I think that would be quite a feat to post those type of numbers. But then, the Badgers would probably have a line in the same neighborhood, although it sounds like Prevost is now out with an injury.

I think there is a fascinating moment in the Idalski press conference where he reveals more than a little about the UND plans for the weekend. It comes near the end of the press conference, after the 6 minute mark where with a bit of entirely appropriate impudence he refers to "TV time-outs". As was the case last season in the Grand Forks games it seems obvious that North Dakota will shorten the bench and try to have its best players on the ice as much as possible. Expect to see the twins on the ice after nearly every commercial break.

It worked last season.

The Sioux will be Fighting mad...oops...I mean perturbed after the setback at the hands of the Beavers, and I suspect they'll come out fast and furious. Gophs need to be ready and equally inspired. No Madison 1st period repeats!

GO GOPHERS!

The Beaver, a large and often destructive rodent, brown in color, that dulls in comparison to all critters of a golden hue.

I know the game is on national tv, but i dont have the channel. Does minnesota have a live video feed or just radio?

3-0 after one.

UND won't be happy with their play in that period, I expect that they will do better.

Minnesota played 11 forwards and 5 D, UND mostly with top two lines.

UND takes a penalty just before the horn, Minnesota starts 2nd period on the power play.

TV between period interviews with first Jocelyn and then as the telecast focuses on the UND men's team with her brother. Remarkable family resemblance. Very, very definitely her brother.

Actual TV!!!!!!

Fabulous, between period replays of the goals, slow motion multiple camera angles.

Life is good.

UND taking advantage of last change as much as they can. Frost shows no fear of having fourth line out against UND first line. And UND draws a penalty.
