Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Reilly transferred on the advice of her old coach because MN had the degree program she wanted.
Are you thinking of Pieper? I doubt that Reilly's old coach would have been that focused on the big picture.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Mattj711...I don't know if you saw any information earlier on the stream of the first Edina/Blake meeting on Jan 20th but that stream is archived for viewing on this site:

http://www.youthhockeyhub.com/page/show/2658649-the-show-archived-games-

Go to the third column "Rink 3 Games" and locate the entry for Blake vs Edina game 1/20 at 4PM. The game was a bit delayed in starting so you can go to about the 7 minute mark for the start of the game. You'll get a look at both #7 and #8 for Blake if you care to.

Thank you! I will check it out.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

In early Class A action today, Breck advances with 9-2 win over Marshall and Proctor-Hermantown defeats Red Wing 3-1

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

St. Paul United is up 1-0 over Alexandria after one. Senior and Cornell commit Samantha Burke with the lone goal so far.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Just to tidy up...

Alexandria wound up topping St. Paul United 3-2 last night.

Today, so far, in AA action

Eagan beat Hill-Murray 2-1 and Centenial shut out Lakeville South 2-0.

Of note in class A consolation. Red Wing defeated Marshall 7-0 with Taylor Heise scoring 6 of the 7 goals and assisting on the other. Red Wing truly is a one woman show. ;)

Nice to see some schools that are not there "every year" getting wins. I thought Centennial/Edina for the final but was not really sure as we didn't see all the teams play. I just don't see anyone being able to match Edina for 3 periods (although a couple schools did it this year)

I agree. With the depth they have Edina just keeps coming at you, applying all kinds of pressure and forcing turnovers. I think it's their tournament to lose.

Their boys' team is also ranked No. 1 and could also very well win the boys State Tournament. I was wondering if any school has won both the girls and the boys in the same year?

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Finishing up the evening AA action:

Edina cruises past Brainerd/Little Falls 4-0 and Eden Prairie shuts down Andover 2-0.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Two blowouts in Class A semifinal action today:

Breck 6, Proctor/Hermantown 0
Warroad 7, Alexandria 1

No question the top two Class A teams in the State will be playing for the title, 4PM CT.

Yup...And just to add that for local viewing in the Twin Cities, the semis and the finals are on KSTC45 and the pay live stream can be found at www.prep45.com.

My guess is that Edina and Centennial will advance tonight in the AA semis.

Centennal advances to the final by beating Eagan 6-1.

Edina also advances to the final with a win over Eden Prairie 4-2

Centennial vs Edina Tomorrow night for the championship.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Breck won Class A with a goal 0:08 into the overtime.

Did I read correctly that the Breck goalie is a 7th grader?

Yes, She started all 3 games and carried the load during the season (.944 S% in at state). They also have a forward that is in 7th grade that had ice time in all 3 games. She had a goal, an assist and a penalty.

Edit, had to check they also have an 8th grader that had 2 goals. They could show up for the next few Februaries
