The box score is misleading because it was BSM that scored last, very late in the 3rd period, to forge the tie. Gopher recruit Kelly Pannek made a couple of great moves in tight quarters to get in all alone on the Trojan's goalie, then deked her and slid it into the empty net.

I thought Wayzata's Sophia Shaver, a junior, was very impressive. Rumor has it she might be headed to Wisconsin?

Chance for Ms. Soccor and Ms. Hockey being one in the same? Wonder if that could work against her?

I'd say she's certainly in the mix, but it's too early to predict. However I do hope that those doing the voting actually get out and see as many of the candidates as possible, as opposed to basing their votes primarily on stats (which especially at the high school level will vary wildly depending on strength of schedule).

Not only a Lake Conference showdown, but a battle of the top four ranked teams in the State! Minnetonka and Hopkins' records are unblemished; Edina and Wayzata are also undefeated but have one tie each.


4:00PM: #4AA Edina vs. #1AA Minnetonka (how will future Gopher Taylor Williamson do against soon-to-be Gopher freshman Sidney Baldwin?)

6:00PM #2AA Hopkins vs. #3AA Wayzata (will soon-to-be freshman Nina Rodgers be the difference-maker against Wayzata's strong defensive game?)
