Minnesota at Denver Feb 10 & 11

Re: Minnesota at Denver Feb 10 & 11

I thought we played decent the first 10 minutes and the last 25 minutes, the rest was blah.

Edit: Patterson seemed shaky through the first period.

Yep. MN was even with them until after scoring first, then it fell apart until MN trailed 5-2. Then MN had an edge in play from that point on - for the most part.

That in-between part though... ugh, just ugh. Bad turnovers, blown assignments, just pure awfulness. MN has to be much better in its own end if there's hope for a split in this series.

And that shallow angle PPG against was one of the worst I've seen this season. Terrible.

Agreed. Although Patty has bailed them out many times this season, it would have been nice to have his teammates bail him out tonight.

I think Greenlay might of hit the nail on the head with his comment early in the game, that the ****ty *** lighting of the arena might of played tricks on Saint Pat

It wasn't worth a dq...dumb penalty but definitely not a dq. Just saw the replay and Rau spun off him after the hit...wasn't driving him into the boards.
Woog said, it was high, late, elbows up and leaving his feet. Gopher calling out a Gopher

Gotcha, I thought I heard somewhere that the way it looks on TV and the actual lighting in person are not the same, maybe I have that wrong.

Per Gwoz in post-game. Zucker went to hospital for precautionary x-rays. Doesn't know his status for tomorrow or next week. Will know more tomorrow. The initial reports are that he did not suffer a head injury. But as we know until he is fully tested and examined anything is possible. We'll just have to wait until tomorrow for more definite information. Hopefully, he is able to play sooner rather than later.

For the F4 in Denver in '08, there was a Poster's game on that exact ice. Full lighting was used. It was dark. I'm NOT using it as an excuse, but it is different and difficult at times.

Good to hear it's not a head type injury.

They weren't good enough on the powerplay to do that, sadly. I also think a puck went off the post in the 3rd + another trickled through the crease. They had chances to make a comeback and failed. Such is life.

Re: Minnesota at Denver Feb 10 & 11

I think both teams played a sloppy game. I would have been mad if DU had lost, because when a great team comes to your ice and plays bad hockey, I think you have to take advantage. I don't think DU played great either, just good enough.

I actually didn't see the Zucker hit, I was following the puck, and it was across the arena from me, but my friend said it didn't look malicious to her. Clearly, though, Rau took several steps toward Zucker after the puck was gone. I think the call that was announced in the arena was boarding.

Oh, and I will definitely consider this a successful weekend. I can live with a split with Minnesota, and anything more would be fabulous. Sadly, when tomorrow's game starts I will be on the road somewhere in Texas.

Man, you live in a state of denial that I thought was exclusive territory for und fans...
