Re: Michigan Wolverines 2011-2012 hockey thread
Congrats on the series. I really expected this one to go three, and I really expected a better showing than what we delivered last night. At no point did we do anything to make it look like we were close out there. A few flurries here or there in each period where we managed to generate a forecheck, a handful of decent saves out of Summerhays, but by and large there wasn't much doubt for more than half the game that Michigan would prevail. I think Jackson summed it up when he said "We shouldn’t even have had to be at Yost." You think, Coach?
I think those outside the team may question Notre Dame fans who feel this way, but I get the sense many of us (me included) are putting the blame for this season squarely on Jackson. I think he and his staff added nothing to the team this time around. They solved zero issues, and made some worse. The team built the early season record on talent alone, and when it came time for a little coaching to take over, the cupboard was bare. Not that many (any?) UM fans need to be reminded, but you guys are lucky to have Berenson. As long as he is physically able to coach, I cannot imagine potholes in the road as deep as the ones I have seen in South Bend in two of the last three seasons.
Good luck down the stretch.
