Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread

If you all think jersey analysis is bad, wait until we get into September and a heated discussion of treadmill use and power skating training techniques... #summerblows

-Alright, time throw out your proposed line combinations!

-Now, who's ready to discuss the finer points of coaching a powerplay?

-Offensive systems this year? Hoping for a lot of the torpedo!

And finally, everyone's favorite:

-Gold or yellow? :D

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread

Is it really line combination season? That's my favorite time of the year! Though, it isn't as much fun now that Boosh is a hermit. Or, more accurately, even more of a hermit.

I think we already had that topic whupped by June this year.

not sure if true but i heard they are trying to sell the treadmill. Also heard they are ripping out oak put in the lockerrooms during russel tenure and replacing with cherry.

If they're not going to use the treadmill, may as well sell it. The tearing apart the locker room to replace oak with cherry seems like an incredible waste of money. It was very nice before, there is no need to spend that much just to change the specie of wood.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread

let's assume the treadmill is gone. What goes into the room?
Cherry looks more luxurious I suppose.

On another subject, anyone have any knowledge on the reffing situation going forward? I know there will be no consortium but I wonder how it will be approached.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread

And they will be adding ivory inlay of the piano Huskie into the cherry wood

"image is everything" "it's the first impression that makes the sale" "you never get a second chance to make a first impression" and "first class" are probably the reasons Pearson can justify it. My guess is it's not a significant amount of money and if it can make a difference in recruiting, why not; I'll trust Pearsons judgement on if it can make a difference.

Recruits care about cherry vs. oak? I thought they cared mainly about joining a winning program, the coaching staff's ability to develop players for the pros, and a fit for the recruit's playing style.

That said, I assume donations are paying for it, and if so, then it's pretty much irrelevant to the fans. If it's happening, then it's obviously independent of the scoreboard upgrade fund.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread

Dylan Steman made Cedar Rapids' 25-man roster, so just to recap where the recruits will be this year:

Evan Anderson - Penticton (BCHL)
Tyler Heinonen - Muskegon (USHL)
Jake Kauppila - NAHL/BCHL?
Chris Leibringer - Muskegon (USHL)
Joel L'Esperance - Tri-City or USNTDP?
Kent McPherson - Fisher 135
Michael Neville - Lincoln (USHL)
Joe Schuldt - Sioux Falls (USHL)
Dylan Steman - Cedar Rapids (USHL)
Reid Sturos - Nanaimo (BCHL)
