Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread
Davis Payne has joined the LA Kings' staff.

Better look again, I think they just laid some plastic over the concrete is all.
I could see a home ice finish, but a lot rides on how Genoe does. That being said, usually we don't have two capable backups that could step up as well.
Good to see Jujhar's tweet that his plane tickets to Michigan have been booked, Major Juniors seem to not be an option.
Do we have any more information on where our recruits will be this year? It seems like more uSHL than we've had in the past.
Joel L'Esperance - Tri-City or USNTDP?
Chris Leibringer - Muskegon USHL
Tyler Heinonen - Muskegon USHL
Joe Schuldt _ ???
Reid Sturos - ???
Jake Kauppila - Chicago Steel USHL???
Evan Anderson - Pentiction BCHL
Dylan Steman - ???

That is probably a good place for him to get good minutes against good competition.reid sturos - nainamo-bchl
My prediction is one of the freshman will take over as number one. I don't think it's a surprise that they are both tall tenders as it seems Genoe gets beat an awful lot up high because he physically doesn't cover there.
I don't buy that the short goalie is necessarily a bad thing. Look at the very good, short goalies to go through the NCAA lately. Exhibit A: Hunwick

It looks like the NAHL could be an option for Jake Kauppila, he was a free agent try out at the Coulee Region Chill in La Crosse, WI last weekend and the Chicago Steel have announced their roster and he's not on it

Anyone have predictions for the white jerseys? I'm expecting something pretty simlar to the black.
Anyone have predictions for the white jerseys? I'm expecting something pretty simlar to the black.
Prediction:
Home whites will be similar to the 1970s white jersey (very similar to the alternate jersey gold) with the following features:
* UP outline and school seal on the shoulder (or even maybe the old MCM instead of the seal)
* Huskies script and player number on the front
* Lace-up Neck
* No silver on the jersey
* No useless ugly piano key toothless geriatric dog pseudo mid 90's Pitt. Penguins ripoff logo
* Player Name Plate in black with gold lettering
* Two color gold numbers with black edging
Where do you all think Tech can finish this year in the last year of the mighty WCHA.
A: Top 3
B: Top 5
C: Home Ice
D: Bottom Half
I never doubt Tech's ability to finish in the bottom half.
I'm seeing another .500-ish finish
A finish like last year I believe is realistic, maybe a step up for a home playoff series.
I think we will surprise people all year.
I see Tech finishing in the top 5 this year. I expect that we'll sweep Northern, which will be a big boost.
I am going with "C"
I think definitely has home ice potential.
I could see a home ice finish
You guys sound a little wishy-washy, let me up the ante: I predict a fourth place finish. (Can I get a third?) Although I love the bit about Northern, good call.
All we need is a little momentum to start the season like the Wisconsin series last year.
If Tech can jump out to a good respectable start, let the goalie situation sort out, I think they will only get better as the season rolls along.
Anyone have an idea if the GLI be on Fox Sports Detroit this season with the games being outside?
Well, you can cross off the weekend of Oct 19. You won't win a game that weekend.
