I could see a home ice finish, but a lot rides on how Genoe does. That being said, usually we don't have two capable backups that could step up as well.


Good to see Jujhar's tweet that his plane tickets to Michigan have been booked, Major Juniors seem to not be an option.


Do we have any more information on where our recruits will be this year? It seems like more uSHL than we've had in the past.

My prediction is one of the freshman will take over as number one. I don't think it's a surprise that they are both tall tenders as it seems Genoe gets beat an awful lot up high because he physically doesn't cover there.

I agree, but since Robinson was clearly playing better and took over the starting job almost immediately, we didn't see much of Genoe after the first two weekends of the year. Virtually all of his playing time after that was sporadic, so he never had a chance to get in a groove. Maybe he just needs to go into this year with the weight of his senior season on his shoulders, like Robinson did.

I don't buy that the short goalie is necessarily a bad thing. Look at the very good, short goalies to go through the NCAA lately. Exhibit A: Hunwick

I didn't say all were bad just that Genoe seems to get beat up high quite a bit. The tall ones can go down in the butterfly and still cover a good portion up high.

Anyone have predictions for the white jerseys? I'm expecting something pretty simlar to the black.

Prediction:

Home whites will be similar to the 1970s white jersey (very similar to the alternate jersey gold) with the following features:

* UP outline and school seal on the shoulder (or even maybe the old MCM instead of the seal)
* Huskies script and player number on the front
* Lace-up Neck
* No silver on the jersey
* No useless ugly piano key toothless geriatric dog pseudo mid 90's Pitt. Penguins ripoff logo
* Player Name Plate in black with gold lettering
* Two color gold numbers with black edging

You guys sound a little wishy-washy, let me up the ante: I predict a fourth place finish. (Can I get a third?) Although I love the bit about Northern, good call.

I've been bold before and it's failed miserably. So I've decided that I prefer to set the bar low and watch them overachieve instead. :p

EDIT: If you want me to make a firmer statement, then OK. 13-12-3 in conference play - 29 pts., 6th place.

All we need is a little momentum to start the season like the Wisconsin series last year.

If Tech can jump out to a good respectable start, let the goalie situation sort out, I think they will only get better as the season rolls along.

Anyone have an idea if the GLI be on Fox Sports Detroit this season with the games being outside?
