I'm wondering if there's a process for getting two really stupid and annoying trolls to shut up and go away if there is no actual breach of the rules.

Yeah, it is called the ignore feature. But it rarely works because you still see their posts when they're quoted. Otherwise, just keep reporting them, saying that the post offended you.

I wouldn't do that to you bigblue.

huggy w/ Suzanne, love this place, always wanted to come back, thanking deceased people, facilities second to none, academics a plus for recruiting, a lot of hard work ahead, was recruiting over the weekend, haven't picked captain(s) yet, will let the players play, will be aggressive offensively, no timeline for success (won't give up on this year's seniors making great strides), learned from Red to treat players like professionals. Thank you and good night.

Personally I liked the quote about making Houghton a place others don't like to come to and that there will be no more easy points from Houghton.

Agreed. I also liked the point of opening it up on offense to give our goalie a break. I don't know if it means more Ws this year, but it should mean more entertaining hockey, and a system that should appeal to recruits.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread I: Not Winning and the ensuing drama.

radio report was that "UPPCO reports power is out to 105% of their customers" whatever that means

My understanding is that some homes in the UP have more than one power outlet, thus the percentage being greater than 100% because some homes are counted as multiple customers.

was recruiting over the weekend

Hitting the ground sprinting.

So there's a chance we might average 2.5 goals a game next year? ;)

The potential to score is there. Our defense is fairly soft, but I don't necessarily mind a year of old time hockey if Mel proves that he can inherit what he's got at forward (which is actually not that awful) and at least get them to score some goals and try to do more than perimeter pass on the powerplay.

I'd love to know who he's after, whether it's the Ben Johnson's of the future or some player(s) he wants to bring along right away... there's the kid SG linked to, another that wants to transfer out of NoDak for lack of playing time, I'm sure there are some uncommitted late bloomers out there that he's talked to... I'm looking forward to seeing how the roster and staff shapes up for this fall. This is the year to get those premium seats locked up.

Both the nodak kids have transferred already...one to Western Michigan and the other to Vermont.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread I: Not Winning and the ensuing drama.

I read that as not wanting to just do the trap or lock if you will, but rather making the opposition plan for more than one system. In other words sometimes you fore-check 1, and sometimes 2, and sometimes 3. And sometimes you play the lock. Just keeps them guessing and doesn't allow them to get settled too much in knowing you will not attack. Russell did this a little more as the season went on last year but was ineffective at it.

I missed all but the first 5 minutes.

what did he say about the assistant opening?

The replay will be online later. By his language it sounds like he wants all his own guys. He also thanked Russell for what he had done.
