Russell got paid $24,235.60 per win last season. Now, I wouldn't have a problem with that if he was winning 20+ games per season. Things need to change and hopefully it's soon.

Heard a great story yesterday about Jamie Russell and the time he was willing to spend with one of the local high school hockey coaches.
That coach was amazed at the depth of knowledge of the game and the spirit and passion that he talks about the game of hockey.
Just thought I would mention it. I sure hope he can get some W's early and enjoy this next season.
Go TECH!!!
There is little doubt that Jamie Russell cares about Michigan Tech and UP hockey as shown by this post, the problem is translating that into wins and having a reasonable level of success on a regular basis. Anyone that thinks this program will return to the glory days of the 60s and 70s is dreaming. All I want is respectability and a realistic shot at returning the McNaughton Cup to Houghton every once in awhile...Heard a great story yesterday about Jamie Russell and the time he was willing to spend with one of the local high school hockey coaches.

Agreed on all counts. And I also did your Michigan Mining School logo.Competing for the MacNaughton doesn't even cross my mind. Tech is more likely to win a random, miraculous Broadmoor Trophy at some point in our lifetimes than they are to win, or even come close to, an 8th MacNaughton Cup. I'd eventually settle for a legitimate shot at home ice every 2-3 years, one or two NCAA appearances per decade, and as many berths in the GLI title game as possible, winning it every so often.
At the moment though, I'd settle for a double digit win column.![]()
