Michigan Tech Huskies 2024-25 - OK MacNaughton, Stop Ducking Us

Chase Pietila turning pro after 2 years. Good luck to him. we will miss him. Imho he will start out in the ECHL. He turns the puck over quite a bit. I thought he would benefit from one more year at least in college. But what do i know?

Chase should have stayed in college versus the ECHL for sure. Love his game and he will get upside coaching development now. Also hope he stays connected to classes on line to get his degree.

I am wondering if Pittsburg didn't like his progress this season and feels he would be better off in their system? I would agree with you in that typically he would have stayed at Tech one more year.

Could be any number of reasons, but most likely his agent pushed him to sign because the perception is that the clutch-and-grab CCHA isn't a good conference for developing NHL talent, particularly offensive d-men.

Sounds like Sardarian probably won't return. Joe has been quite up-front that it was mutually understood when he transferred last summer that he was only committing to play for one season. We were happy to agree, since at the time we needed to backfill the loss of UAF transfer Cade Neilson.
