Awesome to see Davis in the line-up last night, starting last night, getting on the scoresheet last night...
Think there is much pressure on Mankato tonight???

I hope so. One thing I didn't realize is how good Bemidji is. The two losses to Tech are their ONLY two in their last 13 games - including wins over UMD, Mankato, BG... and those Tech games were close.

After 2 periods, Calumet HS (Sturos, Storm, et al) is up on Houghton (Pietila, McKay, Markham, et al) 1-0 in the regional title game. This would be a big upset as Houghton is making a push for a state title this year.
I hope Tech has an assistant at the game.

Appears that if Michigan wins out, we will be 4th pending the playoff results. This is because by doing so St cloud is dropped lower and thus miami's bonus drops. If Michigan splits with MSU, we are 5th. either way we would be in the Miami regional. Of course all that will change once playoffs get going.

Certainly is fun to not be done with hockey yet.

MN State Mankato just tweeted out that they are the "2014 #MacNaughtonCup Champs". I'll bet Ferris will take exception to that statement...

Congrats to Mankato. They deserve it. We can't really complain too much when we went 0-3-1 against them. They're a good team and they are very deserving of the title.

Not sure how many are paying attention, but we ended the regular season with the most wins in Division I hockey!!!

Technically, the regular season isn't over, yet. The garbage that is the B1G still has one week to go. *sigh*

Also, I know there's all sorts of stupid math involved, but the fact that you guys have the most wins in the nation and are only fifth makes me crabby. Hell, my own hockey team makes me crabby. I'm all worked up today. Grrr...

Shoutout to Mel also for playing Jimmy Davis. With a lot on the line, no coach or fan would have held it against him for leaving Davis out of the lineup. Winning is great, but doing things the right way is even better.

we couldn't have asked for a better season, trophy or not. and truly, the fact we couldn't beat MSU, says a lot about their team. we still have the best record in the nation and are in a good position heading into the tournament and the NCAAs. the NCAAs!!! wow! wouldn't one last match up for the Broadmoor between MTU and MSU be great?

On one hand, I'm glad it's UAH and not LSSU with Diefiel. On the other hand, it's UAH with Guerriero, who has had two years in a row with miserable games in Houghton. I still think we will prevail, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had to earn it.
