The other is, I see Carl Dassbach retired, I had that guy once and I still remember a few odd things he said during class.

Also Pat Joyce, who helped run the WCHA for many years. He kept a bunch of hockey memorabilia in his office, including a pretty cool pic of himself presenting one of the league trophies to the Denver Pios.

A couple tweets from Stephen Anderson tonight. I wonder what he'll decide, Tommy wasn't cracking the lineup before his shoulder injury and Mel seems pretty set in the current lineup.

@steander Tommy Brown will decide soon about potential season-ending shoulder surgery. Decision is his; could play in a week if delayed... #mtuhky

@steander ... Pearson said medical hardship a possibility, but would be looked at after season ends. Coaches behind any decision he makes. #mtuhky

With the new style of play, he seemed like he had a decent chance for regular ice time this year before his first injury in the fall.

I'm guessing he applies for the redshirt. Better for him to come back 100% next year with a potential spare year of eligibility, especially since 5'7" defensemen rarely have high pro stock, even in the upper tier minor leagues.

I just realized that barring a first round playoff matchup, Michigan Tech has probably played its last games at Minnesota, North Dakota will play its last series at Colorado College. Sad panda... Michigan Tech has also hosted Denver, Wisconsin and soon...St Cloud for the last time. Obviously SCSU and UW are potential NC opponents so who knows, but its possible.

Today is the seventh installment of Future Huskies where we have an in depth question and answer session with one of the committed recruits to get to know more about their decision to play for Michigan Tech and what they will bring to the Huskies. Today we have quotes from the MTU staff and the Head Coach of the Green Bay Gamblers, Derek Lalonde. C.J. Eick is featured in today's installment. Appleton, Wisconsin native is a tremendous skater, who is speeding and tenacious. The 5'7" forward currently plays in the USHL for Green Bay Gamblers Hockey and will join the Michigan Tech Hockey next season.

Alex Petan's highlight reel was posted on youtube. It's kind of fun, he looks like a really smart, patient player. You can also see why it takes BCHL players a lot of work to make the transition to WCHA-style hockey.

He looks good- very skilled- pass at the 1:18 mark showed a very slick set of hands- goes hard to the net- scores goals every possible way- can see why muckalt liked him as he's a skill player who plays a gritty game (very similar to muckalts game in college). should fit into the top two lines next year; I could see him centering B.Pietila.

I like his skill, but he is pretty small. I wonder how durable he will be and if he can play away from the puck.

very nice article on BB teams, the band, the university and the community. very cool!

Good article wonder what the writer thought personally. They interviewed some other powerful women's programs.

Tech never gets enough press for all that goes on there, and I do not mean sports.
