Hopefully that means Tech lowers its ticket price to put butts in seats, specifically college-age butts.
Yeah, because free tickets aren't cheap enough already.

Woah, woah, woah...! I thought this had been evaluated and rejected due to cost and practicality?
I don't know for sure if it is still being considered. But Jamie realllllly wants it to happen and has mentioned the possibility many times.

So, on the scoreboard, within the next two seasons. As for the east side renovations, it sounds like the priorities when they do happen are to have a new home for the pep band and a new entrance for the Zamboni.

Did anyone notice, did Brown play at all this weekend? I thought he was going to be a real contributor.

Brown will probably need more time to develop than Seigo. He played in a weaker junior league (SJHL), and he is smaller at only 5'9". He is likely going to get pushed around by a lot of the bigger bodies in college hockey.

Yes but especially on the pp he ought to be great. I thought Siego played well, but there were a number of defensive lapses, no?. just sayin..

Yeah, I seem to recall Suzanne saying a couple years ago that they needed to address this ASAP because the current door causes some weird bounces that sometimes wind up in front of the net that our goalie tends for two periods each game.

Its awesome that it took like 40 years for them to figure out that they need to fix that.

Personally I didn't care for the lineup changes from Friday to Sunday. Obviously Kattelus couldn't be avoided but the substitution of Rohn and Schooley for Kattelus and Bunger was a big negative; a ripple effect was putting Royer in Kattelus spot which was a step backwards and made the second line much less effective. Also on defense, I liked Neilson better than Vlais..

If Gwilliam was hurt it may explain why the first line wasn't as effective as well; what I don't understand is why it took until 10 min left in the third before Baker and Olson were put together. When you're not generating chances, it would seem logical that these two should be paired.

I haven't watched either game yet. Probably sitting down to see the NMU game in a bit. However I would not be surprised if there were defensive lapses to be seen, especially on the penalty kill. The season is young and, other than Cousens and Kivisto, the blueline is also pretty young. They will have a lot of work to do.

Last week, Russell said that he felt Seigo can definitely contribute on the powerplay immediately. However he also said that the defensive side of his game will need practice and time to adjust.

It's early in the season, time to give everyone a shot and let players play themselves into or out of the lineup.

And Jamie woudl agree with you on Neilson, based on his Sunday pregame interview. He said Neilson played well and did not play himself out of the lineup, they just though Eli V should be given a shot.

Wouldn't the easier fix be to switch the ends around?? Weird bounces that end up in front of the opposing goalie 2 out of 3 periods would be a good thing to happen.

No, it wouldnt.

There is an advantage to where the tech bench is, and they can't change benches because of the locker room. Tech's bench is closer to the goal they defend twice, and it is deeper into the zone than the opposing bench, switching ends would end that advantage.

Too bad then they couldn't have switched locker rooms and remodeled the away lockerroom for Tech and then have like a couple of weeklong WOW sessions in the old Tech Lockerroom just so it could get all nasty and funkedified?? ;)

It just hit me. Every season for the past 4-5 seasons.....this is what I hear/read from the Tech fans:

Reporter: Coach, you were 5-79 last year. Why the playoff talk?
Coach: Well, we made some key trades.....and we got the funk.

:D

Who, other than maybe Darkness and drunk Boosh, has been talking about Tech's NC$$ chances this year? :)

I only predicted Tech to finish in a fight for sixth in the WCHA, maybe they'll make the NCAA tourney, maybe not, but if they do, they just about as much of a chance as anybody else.

I love this picture.
