Or will he become yet another of the players whose names will be stricken from the record?

Russell and Tok left yesterday for a week's recruiting trip to Sweden. I'd wonder if they came to any decisions before leaving, or if they are going to use the week as a "cooling off" period.

Or maybe they're going to use it to make Eric "sweat for a week."

Asst. Coach Mikesch gave the interview.

*Extremely happy with NMU game
*Great crowd Friday
*Outworked NMU for a majority of the game
*Deserved the win

*Good in spurts against LSSU
*Stressed that we need to "create our bounces"
*Never put enough pressure on them/didn't wear them down

*Freshmen look good, playing in all types of situations
*Older guys stepping up too

*Confidence in the Pietila/Witt/Gordic line
*Seeing ice time in a lot of important situations
*Still some instruction to be done defensively, but that is to be expected of freshmen

*Definitely using the bye weekend as an instructional week
*Stressing the differences between non-conf. play and WCHA play
*Can't afford to take nights off in the Dub

*Coaches feel VanWagner is playing well
*Doing a good job of being the senior leader of the defensemen
*Still worried about his hip after what happened earlier in his career, but so far so good.

*Neilson did not play himself out of the lineup
*Just giving Eli a shot on Sunday, and he also did well
*Good to have depth

*JR & Tok recruiting over in Sweden this week
*Saw their first game last night.

No discussion of Kattelus. I wouldn't expect the coaching staff to say anything unless he gets reinstated.

I actually wouldn't expect to ever hear anything. He'll either be back in the lineup one week -- or playing for Northern next year.
