Re: Merrimack College 2010-2011: taking H.E. one chair-back seat at a time

actually hokyidiot they couldnt build a new rink no matter what the donation because they dont have land to put it on and the town of north andover wont allow them too... aside from that the rink is great they did spend 2-3 mil on it that is a fact just cuz all you can see is the chair backs doesnt mean its all that was done, its a completely new ice surface and everything involved, please tell me you dont think it costs 50 dollars to put in that callibur ice surface and systems to maintain it, you cant be that dumb, plus moving the penalty box, creating a path under the seats for the visitors, as well as changing the cieling out the seat backs the new student section... ya your right they must not give a **** about the hockey program here. This isnt BC BU UNH Maine or VT ... MC doesnt have hundreds of millions of dollars nor do they have tons of wealthy athletic donors and alums, nor simply a large student body or other large sports programs. You cant just magically come up with money just because you want to support the program, money like that doesnt exist at a school like merrimack, but they are certainly doing an exceptional job for what they have available. we would all love it if you kept the rest of your input to other teams threads we dont want you or your "support"

On your comment about the ice surface, a good friend of mine frequently played hockey in high school at Lawler before they renovated it and said it was one of the best ice surfaces he had ever skated on. Don't know how it would compare to other HE rinks, but the old one couldn't have been that terrible.

Re: Merrimack College 2010-2011: taking H.E. one chair-back seat at a time

I hope to God you didnt graduate there, your spelling and grammar is worse than mine...

Have you walked under the bleachers where the "new" entrance for the visiting team is? It is particle board. They do have the land and Phil and Sean F had it drawn up and would easily have worked.

The key though is the completely new ice surface, water costs millions....

It is better than old rink and the ice is better and no longer dangerous, which is was.

All good and at the end of the day, it aint changing so why talk about it. FYI, Serino might not be Jerry York but he raised more money than anyone, including the current regime. And did so with jacking up ticket prices. He has built malden catholic back to a great program and has raised millions for new fields etc.

It would be great to see MC at the garden.

The towns always fought it, complaining about wetlands issues. Serino's regime also has a lot of money "unaccounted" for. He was part of the Joe I and Rich S group that was very fraudulent.

if you were there the day after t'giving steve, you did. there were benches on the visitors or far side. salvo can tell us but i thought i read that over xmas break they were to do more seats or the rest of them. salvo?

Sorry, loaded with work this week. I think you already got your answer, but yes over break they replaced all of the bleachers with seats. The only bleachers that exist in the arena now are behind the far net for students.

They are the same ones that are in the bball arena, they have the plastic separate butt seats on them. (similar to the upper deck at conte). But as far as tickets a non student can buy, there are no bleachers.

My son played there a year or so ago and said it was the best ice he's ever skated on. He said Lake Placid's 1980 rink was the only ice that came close.

Re: Merrimack College 2010-2011: taking H.E. one chair-back seat at a time

thats a lie and you should be carefull what you say. joe was a great guy and in a million years wouldnt take a dime

CS the same, not one dime missing.

dont like someone as a coach, fine but to call someone a felon is absurd

Did not call anyone a felon, especially Coach Serino. Google Santagati, he has a history of "incidents." Joe I is also a known liar.

Re: Merrimack College 2010-2011: taking H.E. one chair-back seat at a time

Have known santagati since his days at Gaston and Snow. Maybe a hair full of himself or disengenuous but releax with the google stuff

Joe I is a great guy, maybe a little timid but has been a community plus for many, many years. Not his fault he got stuck in the middle of MC BS at its best. For crying out loud he was Joe Dimaggios driver for years and a pall bearer in Tony C's funeral....

And a liar. They both are. Richard S lied in his bio on the Merrimack media guides for years, "over exagerated" past work experiences. That is a fact. It is also a fact that he got in trouble at every stop he was at. It is also a known fact that coaches and student-athletes could not stand Joe I. His brother is a stand up man, but he is not.

Many, many former players and donors still refuse or refused for several years to support the program because of the BS of Santagati, Iarabino and Serino.

dont call people a felon huh? your calling the current administration felons because they reported that they spent between 2 and 3 million dollars on the renovations and you claim they spent 200 thousand, so your claiming they just took about 2.8 million dollars, or misreported its use either way your calling them felons.

That is just not true. The only donors who had significant power/money left with him, not the other way around. the same ones who donated millions to build turn fields for baseball, Football, Lacrosse and so on at MC, the other one. The big split was when the coach ws picked, bwefore the AD in typical MC fashion and CK and others were not chosen. It proved to be correct in the end but that is why players split. the most money raised was by CS, not anyone after.

Former players were upset Andy Heinze, Chris Kiene, Bobby Jay, etc weren't given more of a look, but many former players and other boosters took their money else where because of Santagati's lying. That's why you continually hear people talk about the new administration being honest with them. Never before have all the boxes been full. This new administration has rejuvenated people's trust.

I love how you always go quiet on issues you're proven to be wrong on. Just go away. I mean once I gave examples and facts of Santagati's lies you went silent on the issue.

Okay...let's just move on...I'm so done...fact is, the arena was renovated...unfortunately it wasn't up to everyone's standards...so be it...it's a million times better than it was...and it now fits the "model" for which Hockey East set forth...as they say, you can't please everyone all the time.

Fact is, Serino NEVER got it done, and Coach D is getting it done. It's a lot easier to build a decent High School squad than it is to build a competitive D1, Hockey East squad, especially when you have to compete with the big named schools just 15 miles south of your campus...and finding a few diamonds in the rough like Cannata and Da Costa is a HUGE help...and yes, Serino, from what I hear, is doing a great job over at his new employer...as for President Dick...I won't say much about him...he was pretty high up at the company I worked for while attending MC and on co-op (I believe CFO, but I could be wrong)...from all the reports, he and Nixon didn't just have a 1st name in common...they were both pretty "shifty". I don't know Irabino, so can't comment on him.

This squad is finally giving the faithful fans of MC something to cheer about...I started following this team during the 92-93 season, a year before I was a freshman at the 'Mack. In the past 19 years, I've seen the lowest of lows and some great moments ('98 at BU)...most of the great moments had nothing to do with MC...Watching Paul Kariya skate for 2 years while at Maine, including his frosh year was amazing...I've seen a ton of NHL'ers come into our barn...but none of it, and I mean NONE of it, compares to the joy I'm getting from this squad. They are something special...I never thought I'd live to see the day where they were not only nationally ranked, but in the top tier of Hockey East, and sitting nicely as a #3 seed in the National tournament...it's like the KC ROYALS leading the division with a month left...you just never expect it to happen, but you can always hope.

So, for the time being, I'm going to enjoy the ride and enjoy watching this team play. With each win, you can see their confidence building...after the exhausting come from behind road win on Friday night, I expected a let down on Saturday. Instead, they took that confidence and absolultely POUNDED Umass...and now comes UNH...this is a true test for the Warriors...I'd love to get 3 or 4 points, but a split is more realistic...they should have won at UNH the first time they faced off...UNH's netminder was just stellar in that game. We'll hope Joe C can keep up with him this weekend.

Having said that, I'm sick of the p*ssing contest...I don't hide behind a screen name...you all know where to find me...I don't claim to have any "sources" at the school...I'm just an alum, a fan, and a friend of the program...with every cent I give to the College, it is always written "TO BE USED SOLELY FOR THE MC HOCKEY PROGRAM"...I'm enjoying the ride and having a blast this season, in our new, remodeled (not perfect) home. GO WARRIORS!!! Your true fans will always stand behind you.

"Boxes"? All 4 of them? One was Presidents, one was for Alum and 2 were for private rentals and sold.

The only money that mattered left with CS, period. I dont go quiet on any issues when I know for a fact I am right, which I am here/. Not one person who left and took their support, outside the few who went to MC with CS had any bearing what so ever on rink renovations.

As an outsider, I don't know/care the details, all I know is, in 98/99 we were told that within a year or two, Merrimack would have a facility up to par with Hockey East, including bowl seating, and rennovated everything (I believe there are renderings in their media guides back then), and none of that happened. Fast forward to today, and it looks like they've gotten a lot done in the last few years that they promised they'd get done a decade ago....

That's a lie. Serino had his chronies from Saugus, and he was a great salesman, but there were as many former players and alums that he scared off as outsiders that came in to help fund renovations. You have nothing to say now that you were proven wrong regarding Santagati's lies and the fraudelent comment you made regarding the renovations over the summer. You are nothing but a liar who wishes you knew more than you did. Now go away unless you want to talk Merrimack hockey and other college hockey topics. We don't care about who waved to you at the Valley Forum II.

excellent, excellent post IMO and i enjoyed reading it............i would say that it's a safe bet a large majority of HE fans want to see MC succeed...........and you're spot on, enjoy and seize the moment, you waited a long time.

Re: Merrimack College 2010-2011: taking H.E. one chair-back seat at a time

that is strange. no one before or after has raised more. Blue line club, varsity lockerroom, on and on. all from cs.

When JD left and gave millions to MC(the other one), there went the rink, celli left with him as well, on and on
forgotten more than you will ever know

Just go away. Take your knowledge and love affair for Serino and the sleeze bags RS and JI else where.
