Not my pipeline,Dad...I'm a just a Maine grad and a Maine fan,period.Forgive my ignorance!
I don't pretend to have any insider info on these kids.(Having a job and what-not kinda takes up a lot of the time I could spend sleuthing around junior teams in the Northeast,which may or may not be legally considered "stalking"...)
BUT,while I wish Derek a long happy life,complete with a beautiful wife and brilliant children,I really don't see any particular reason to agonize about his attending UML instead of Maine.He might turn into a Hobey candidate down the road-and God bless him if he does-but he ain't exactly setting the world on fire down there in Lowell.That much is clear to everybody.

What a moron! You did it first, how old are you? You have been slamming Maine for the last 2 years over Arnold so it is only natural you would get a taste of your own medicine! Personally I hope Derek has a great career and for whatever reason things did not work out I am happy he is getting an opportunity elsewhere (gee I do sound like Tim

However you are one of the people that has made this board a less enjoyable board for many of us. You spew out idiotic statements about 10 other programs players could fill our top two lines and also say Tim is incompetent. Well if 10 teams have more talent than our first 2 lines then Tim is a genius!
You made all kinds of statements about Corkum before he ever dressed, saying he was 1/2 the player of Arnold etc. This is a kid that has battled for 2 years with concussion syndrome! If there was ever a kid to pull for it is him, and you were riding his butt! And then you get on people for basically taking your words and using them against you!
"You started it first" is the best you can come up with!!! No Hockey Dud you started it first and personally, even with all your knowledge of Maine Hockey, it'd be no loss to the rest of us, however ignorant we might be, if you were to cease with your enlightening posts!
We already know you are a big player in the hockey world and we might be lost without you, but we'll try and survive! Don't let your head get in the way when you shut the car door today, I am sure your ego is that big that it is a constant battle!

Dont let facts get in the way of your 4 or 5 paragraphs of nothing.

but I do think that Derek Arnold is special.
as for "I would take Abbott over Arnold"... I wonder if you remember back to Paul Kariya's sophomore season when NOBODY knew how to play with him.
Kariya did not "look good" like he did the year before, but it was surely not his fault.
Derek does not look good, if you just look at the numbers, but if you look at the little things (just like seeing the little things PK did his sophomore season).... Arnold is GOOD.
It was not that long ago that I was sitting in the stands in Lewiston and MANY of the Maineiacs fans were talking about how Crosby was over rated because he only scored 1 assist in that night's game. I saw some things that were better than that assist on the score sheet.... just like I see Arnold's skill (and NO I am not calling him the next Crosby, I am simply stating that the score sheet does not tell all... Think Peter Metcalf)
I don't even have to see any more than Arnold's numbers to say that I'll still take Abbott on my team,thank you very much!

Let's take your comment that "he is right" and discuss his comment that there are 10 teams in Division 1 hockey, of which any of there forwards would crack our top 2 lines! Is that one of those instances where he is right?
And if he is right, and I, according to you believe "Tim is God" then would that not make Tim in fact a coaching God? Just asking. You say that Hockey Dud is right, so please understand for Tim to take a bunch of players who would be skating 3rd line at best on 10 teams, and have them playing this "well" to date, the guy should win the Penrose hands down!
So since I have repented for past indiscretions where I called you (who post in anonymity on this board) a name, let me repeat that I will not do that again. Instead I will go back to lurking and trying to ignore the lunacy of hokey duds posts, regardless of how right he is!
I do have one question before I go! Has anyone ever seen Hokeydud and KIA at the same time? Could they be one and the same? The rhetoric would seem to indicate that! For that matter Julian Assange, Hokeydud and KIA, one and the same!

Bingo. Anyone on this board who either cant or refuses to act somewhat like a grownup at times is swimming against the tide. We all have our differences of opinion. Its how we express those opinions without belittling others that seperates the trolls from the others. I like reading someone elses viewpoint, but I hate having it shoved down my throat. The 3 letters IMO go a long way. IOW, if you think a little before hitting the save button, consider how others might perceive what you write...if there's doubt, add a phkn IMO. Easy
