Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

You need both.

FYI

the 3 worst players in the 7-3 loss to North Dakota were

Genoway, a minus 3 and Lamoureux a minus 2
no one else on ND was minus 2 or worse
I agree with everything you wrote except "genoway was worst"
he played how many minutes? against which lines?

plus minus tells nothing in that series

I'll bet He played about 60 minutes that weekend

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

You've got an unhealthy obsession with Tim Lovell. Enough with the agenda!!!

I don't, Whitehead does and something doesnt make sense with it. Not 1 other school has recruited or taken Advantage kids but maine has taken 3 or 4. If that doesn't raise a red flag, what will?
maine is not getting the best talent out there, not even close
TL is a great guy and is doing a very good job. but the kids being promoted are not the top kids at their age in this region.

Maybe Tim knows something the others don't. Are any of these kids at Maine already, if not how do you know they won't help Maine. Lastly Maybe its the best talent Tim can get

Walrus........the kids that played for Boston Advantage are Cam Brown and Brian Harris (both doing very well this season for the Monrachs and Jr. Bruins).......and currently, Ryan Cloonan and Liam Pecararo. None of them have stepped foot into Alfond yet. Hokydad is talking out of his you-know-what.......again.

Just remember.......he's the one that tried to sell us Derek Arnold........how's he doing at Lowell???

Pretty sure that EVERY team in Div.1 Hockey would take a player like Genoway in a moment...he's a work-horse and a minute's eater...he played at least 30 minutes per game vs Maine...can you Vision Genoway on Maine's Blueline and leading the pp at the point...he'd make things happen...{imo}.

He isn't doing great but who is on that team, put him at Maine and it may a different story. Its pretty hard to be certain how kids are going to do unless they're playing at Maine. Sure some guys are a given, we don't seem to get many of those at Maine any more

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

Walrus...walrus... lower case

If you haven't seen Arnold you cannot comment, really.
what I saw him doing at the point on the PP was INFINITELY better than Abbott... his hands looked as soft as Leveille's and his ability to rush to the net from the high slot looked like Teddy. (this was only one game, I know, but he looked pretty special... quarterbacking the top PP in his very first game as a freshman)

the kids has hands!

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

Agreed........that's why railng against 4 recruits that haven't even donned a Maine uniform yet is laughable.

How is he doing? Real good. Not many freshmen run a Hockey East power play and are on a top 2 line

Better than Corkum is doing, thats for sure

I saw the Lowell game in person (therefore saw Arnold play)......I guess that I was too busy and giddy watching Maine pour it on in that game.....sorry.

Arnold has 2 goals and 3 assists in 16 games with a -8 (on a team full of minus guys....some much worse than him)........I guess that I just don't understand hokydad's "freak out" regarding Maine's recruiting. I think that they are doing just fine.....wish they had a couple more stud d-men in the stable though. It's silly to complain about Maine not winning NE recruiting battles with BC, BU, and even UNH though......if they rarely did with Walsh, they certainly aren't going to with Whitehead.

Maybe Arnold will be unfortunate enough to receive a couple of concussions this season, sit out a season or 2.......and THEN he will be in the same boat that Corkum has been in.

I think they only started dumping on him BECAUSE you wouldn't shut up about him.
