Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

So you're contradicting yourself. If it's fair for BU/BC, it's fair for Maine...but you're saying its NOT fair, because the BC/BU kids are 95 birthyears, whereas Maine's is a 96. There's only 5.5 months between them!!!!!

And those '95 BU and BC kids committed 6 months ago.

I was told there would be no math.
But for those who are mathematically challenged, wouldn't that mean they were the same age as the kids who had the foresight to commit at BC and BU?

Come on.......it only means something if they were being recruited by UMass-Lowell! After all, that's where the Great Derek Arnold ended up!

How's he doing anyway? Any update on his stats, HockeyDope?

Dude, did you not see Derek Arnold play up at ALfond?
that kid moved the puck much better than Abbott on the point on the PP, and he kept it in the offensive zone with out any problem. I was thoroughly impressed.

He also had a nifty rush to the net, dekeing out a couple Maine defenders... I think he looks great, and I really liked watching him.

I agree, he looked good at Alfond. Not sure if he has looked that good since?

I liked the part where Maine scored the eight goals and won the game.

Gary Conn's nephew is a potential Maine recruit. Played for Danvers High, now playing for Tilton Prep. What happened to recruiting Canada hard? I'm sick of these recruits from greater Boston that no one else even wants. Flynn and O'Neill at least had offers from other HE schools.

If he's anything like his uncle on the ice,he's a blue-chippa...

Conn-man was as good a two-way center as Maine's ever had.Great memories there.

Wonder who you are referring to? Hegarty was certainly recruited by other schools, and the only other players from MA are Cornell and Corkum, who was also recruited by many others back when he was healthy. Cornell has been a nice pick-up for the last guy in 2 years ago. So who are the Boston area kids nobody else wants? Future recruits??? We have no idea how good or bad any of them will be!

And our efforts in Canada have bitten us but good the last few years, but Gingras is due in next year and Lomberg soon after so it is not like they are not crossing the border!

Blaise has a better record of getting recent grads into the AHL, like it or not. Derek and his family knew that.
