Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

I'm glad your son is doing well. Hope he doesn't get stabbed in Lowell. But we no longer give a **** about his stats.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

Like I am his dad pal, what a stupid post.

know it all=know nothing

maines loss, lowells big gain. have though seen him play 6 or 7 times this year as i have 2 or 3 of the maine recruited forwards. laughable swap in lowells favor

no worries though, larry anderson will help you in the playoffs

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

time will tell, Lovell does a good job.

I dont believe for a second that CB had any offers from Harvard or Northeastern. Not for a second. Maybe a visit facilitated by Lovell but thats it
The programs dont like it when kids say stuff like that

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

Maine needs to recruit another promotions guy - what goes on between periods and the general promotions at the games are terrible - last night's "recognition " of the folks in the military and their families was just plan embarrassing. March 'em onto the ice, let them wave and the send them off. No speech by the AD, nothin'.....

Did anybody know that Jim Craig was signing autographs in recognition of the "Miracle on Ice"? I noticed one small flyer scotch taped to the wall while I was leaving the building.....

not only was the team's performance embarrassing..........

Is it the athletic department, or does that fall to Learfield? My understanding was that promotions are handled by <s>Clear Channel</s> Learfield.

You are correct, Black Bear Properties, is handling all promotions, advertising sales etc and this is an entity of Learfield.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

After being at the game last night it is hard to not be excited about next year. Obviously one the biggest concerns is the goaltenders, with Darling status unknown and Sirman not seemingly ready to carry the team I cruised around the leagues for available goalies. The kid I found to be most intriguing was Jeff Teglia http://ushl.stats.pointstreak.com/playerpage.html?playerid=2288313&seasonid=4429.

Further google stalking found that his dream school is Notre Dame, http://collegehockey247.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1051483.

Does anyone know if we can entice this kid with a immediate chance to lead a team that has a decent chance at some success.

This kid from the Green Bay Gamblers in USHL is the best goalie available in the league

Summerhays Sets New USHL RecordGreen Bay Gamblers Steve Summerhays set a new USHL record on Saturday when he extended his winning streak to 19 games after a 20-save performance in the 4-3 overtime win vs. the Lincoln Stars.

Summerhays tied the record last Saturday which was originally set by Matt Carney of the Des Moines Buccaneers who won 18 consecutive games during the 1998-99 season.

Ironically, Summerhays began his streak on November 20th making 22 saves in the 3-2 win over Lincoln, the same team he defeated to set the new record. During the 19-game stretch, he won three overtime games and one shootout contest.

The 19-year-old native of Anchorage, Alaska is playing in his second USHL season and has compiled a 25-2-1 record with two shutouts this season. He is currently tied for the League lead in victories (25) while ranking second with a 2.18 goals-against-average. Summerhays was selected to participate in the 2010 USHL All-Star Game. Last season, he posted a 15-6-1 record in 23 appearances for the Gamblers. Summerhays is uncommitted to a college hockey program following his USHL career.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

Sounds like there might be a fit:

While he hasn't signed with a college team yet, he's receiving more and more interest from Division 1 programs.

"I kind of want to play out east: Maine, New Hampshire, or Boston," said Summerhays. "So, if any of those schools are interested that would be great."

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

story on recruits, can't say I like seeing another small Dman.

Who cares about his size?

We have Rutt and Gingras coming in that year too. They have size and enough skill to be considered late rounders in this years' draft.

That combo is replacing Dim/Ban/Van and looks like they'll be even better!

Jacob and Sebastien will be more than solid....so if Harris can come in as icing on the cake, and by his sophomore year provide a ton of offensive spark (apparently similar to Tory and Tyler)..... are you kidding me?! I'll take it!

You might want to slow down on the "ton of offensive spark "
Not even close to Tyler

OK, my statement could be easily misinterpetted because of how I wrote it.

I meant that it looks like we already have two awesome blueliners coming in that year in Rutt and Gingras....so if Harris DOES develop into any sort of contributor it would just be icing on the cake.

Exactly. I wish he was another Brett Tyler and at only 16, you never know.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

Does anybody know where Stuart Higgins and Mark Anthoine are playing this season? I don't see them listed on the team sites that Heisenberg has listed for each. Wondering how they are doing.
