Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

maybe we can just realy throw the towel in and recruit out of Bangor and Brewer HS
I appreciate the passion and optimism, I share it. But unless Maine gets back on the beaten path, they are going to return to their form of the early 80's

I appreciate your input. I appreciate the fact that you are willing to write YOUR opinions candidly.
Your red chicklets are a result of your willingness to step on toes and to write opinions that are not shared by everyone.

I WISH everyone would speak HIS mind and not walk on eggshells... Jesus, you shouldda been there when I used the PROPER term "Negro" in a discussion regarding RACE and not continent of origin... not allowed to do that.... Just like you are not allowed to share your opinions.

If you care what anyone thinks, I think you should keep it up.... what you write is worth reading.... although I do remember when you said that Union was not going to get spanked by Brown, Yale and bunch of others in the ECAC in response to my perfectly prescient prognostication... someone owes someone an apology

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

I'm sure you're right, Maine is recruiting USHL players, but they don't want to come for whatever reasons. The recruiting process is very difficult on many fronts. Academics, character, talent, personality and willingness to play in the Northeast corner of the country are all issues facing players and recruiters.

Don't forget parents.:D

Don't forget parents.:D

Yeah.......you gotta remember that many times it is more important to the parents where their kid goes to school than to the kid himself.........especially if you are living in the Catholic suburbs of Boston. ;)

I extend it... Union and Yale are doing well, hopefully Brown to follow

Mark Anthoine (Chicago/USHL) - 38 GP, 21-17-38, +1

Stuart Higgins (Youngstown/USHL) - 33 GP, 4-5-9, -17 (I don't see Higgins ending up in Orono in 2010 if ever IMO)

2011

Darcy Ashley (Summerside/MJAHL) - 33 GP, 22-25-47

Cam Brown (Boston Advantage Midget Major) - 50 GP, 18-40-58

I was thinking the same about Higgins. He didn't do anything with the US team before being kicked off and now he's 14th on his team in scoring in the USHL not too mention the worst +/- on the team. I'd be surprised if he ever ends up at Maine and shocked if it's next year.

Not being mean, but have seen him play 5+ this year and it isnt clicking.

So Hokydad
You went to UMaine for 4 years, saw over 400 games. Did you graduate from Maine?
