Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Salerno recorded another assist in Waterloo's 7-3 over Omsk. Waterloo moves to the semifinals.

Wrister82, I saw Antoneli's CCHL rights were traded recently, any idea who he's trying out for in the USHL?

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

On some former commits Swann Boisvert is going to play at a Div 3 school in the New England area and Pietro Antoneli is trying his luck in the USHL to try to hook on with another D1 school
I knew Antonelli left to greive over the death of his brother, but I thought he Maine was planning on having him back??

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Antoneli's rights were traded to Hawesbury but apparently he is going to tryout in Des Moines of the USHL

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

No Antoneli is not returning to Maine from what I understand he is looking to try and go elsewhere

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

I don't get excited, I could careless if Maine recruits 1 stars or 5 stars, go 0-38 or go 42-1-2, as a reporter all I get excited for is....

so... as Dwollstadt put it, some people have different agendas.

it seems from sportsmaniac's quote, that the people who are following Maine hockey NOWADAYS do not care if the team goes 0-38...

I guess that is a little different than being a fan...

maine used to have a LOT of fans

Yes the fan base isn't what use to be we can all agree there. My comment about the 1/5 star, going 0-38 or going 41-1-2 isn't from a fan point of view. As a reporter the job is to be objective, I am going to report the good, the bad, and the ugly that was what I was trying convey to San Diego Biker. I share news when Maine recruits a 5 star or a walk on, decommit to go to the CHL or another school, give in season updates of recruits.

I do think there are plenty people out there who care about the record of this team at the end of the day.

If there's news I will share it with the board you are more than welcome to listen to it or ignore it, doesn't matter to me.

Most folks who post on here do care about Maines record and how the team is doing. Its frustrating to see Tim going after kids who go Major Jr

Keep up your info,no matter how it works out...all or most of the crew do care if Maine wins...more like we want out old Team back...that means winning/tough to play against and always mentioned as a Team with a chance to win it all...

So what is Tim supposed to do? Should he say this kid is likely to go major junior, so I won't talk to him? Exactly how is he supposed to know the kid's intent? And if the kid does go major junior, what has Tim (and UMaine) lost, except a few hours of recruiting time?

Recruiting has changed big time in the last 5/6 years...you never are sure...so you end up having to have more options in recruiting sometimes too many players in a given year that you have to offend some by holding them back a year here and there...sometimes it looks like both sides are guilty of using each other....but the CMJr has made it alot harder, especially when alot of these players are looking towards bigger goals(NHL/$$$$$)...and Education is not always their main option....thats where top notch recruiting assistants can make or break a team on any given year of recruiting...imo Maine's recruiting trail has picked up some(not alot)but it still has a long way to go to compete with other bigger named schools...comes down to winning/exposure on TV/Post Season...you win and players get drafted and you'll see a interest in Maine again(all imo).

I don't have those answers, not sure what he can do.

I'm not a biker. I hate motorcycles AND bicycles.

Seems like TIMMAY avoids going head to head with ANYONE in Hockey East these days in the battle for recruits. Is it because the program has sunk THAT low?.........or is it because those recruits don't want to play for TIMMAY?

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

BJ Salerno and Eric Schurhamer and the rest of the Waterloo Blackhawks will face the Sudbury Wolves (OHL) in the finals of the Junior Club World Cup in Omsk, Russia tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. You can watch the game here http://www.youtube.com/khlofficialvideo (play by play will be in Russian I believe).

I agree with Ma#1ne Hky please continue to post your informative and interesting information on this site regardless of some ill-conceived comments.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Pietro Antoneli has signed with Hawkesbury of the CCHL and is not going to USHL after all. He is looking for another D! opportunity
