Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

I can confirm Boisvert is no longer heading to Maine. Maine wanted him to do another year of juniors and both parties decided to go their separate ways.

Interesting indeed he was one of the only recruits over 6'. What happens if there is a change in coaching staff are players able to decommit even if they have or haven't signed a letter of intent.

I believe the school can give the player the option to be released from his LOI if there's a change in head coach.

I heard Tremblay will be taking over the New England Huskies program (EJHL), but nothing is official.

Hopefully things work out for Swann. I think him not coming was the best for everyone involved. We don't really need another Amestoy.

Nice story on Pecararo and Cloonan. The interest from the USHL they are getting is definitely encouraging.

Actually forwards Merchant and Swavely are both over 6 feet as are defensemen Hutton and Riley. Lomberg (f) is 5'9" and Williams 5'10" (d). Devin Shore, who hopefully ends up in Orono would be an impact forward and is also 6 feet. We will be getting bigger.

It certainly appears that Maine wanted him to wait a year, at best... Can't see why he's considering Atlantic Hockey, otherwise.

The Portland Junior Pirates did pick up the Vermont team and the EJ will skate out of Saco next winter.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Yes, it will be interesting to see what type of talent that will be on the roster for the Jr. Pirates next year

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Mkes sense Pembroke has a pipeline into that conference Mercyhurst ,Niagara etc

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

If that's the case, never mind... Maine should not be competing for recruits with those schools.

On Cedar Rapids USHL website Dylan Gareau says he will be attending Maine in this fall. He is listed at 6'1" so you may be right . Size and skill is certainly an asset

Eagan was upset today by Moorhead 4-0 in the state tournament. They are eliminated

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

While we were talking about Tremblay moving to the the Huskies/Islanders sounds like that franchise would move to the USHL if they do come East. The Maine Hockey Group (Portland Jr. Pirates) and the Colisee in Lewiston had a press conference Tuesday announcing their intentions for an USHL team.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

The Cumberland County Civic Center will be closed for a major renovation in the next few months. The renovation schedule hasn't been released yet, but I wonder if it is closed this fall (early winter), would UMaine play at the Collisee in Lewiston?
