Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

No worries...Technically you are correct, he should be a senior this year since he spent three years at Malden Catholic, but he repeated his junior year this year. (which is a common practice when a kid transfers from high school to a prep school.)

Roberto to attend Maine in 2014
By Nathan Fournier Published: 24th February 2012

The University of Maine is the complete package for Nick Roberto.

The 17-year old forward, who currently attends Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH, officially committed to the University of Maine Black Bears for the fall of 2014 on Thursday.

“When I was growing up I just fell in love with the colors,” said Roberto. “When I finally went to a game, the fans were incredible. The coaching staff was good to me. I liked how they develop players to be NHL players and I think that’s key.”

Do we know why Swann Boisvert has decommited???
The Question is has he decommited..? If he did, surprised a little/but not alot...but didn't Pietro Antonelli join Pembrook after the Holidays, same Team that Boisvert is playing for...(Left Maine and is said to be coming back to Maine in the Fall.. I ??? that.)...could be he gave Boisvert the in's and out's of the Maine Hockey Program...just a thought...must be some reason out there. Sportsmanic are out there..??? Need you take on this.

Okay I think this is absurd. Maine bent over backward from what I have read for Antonelli. He was dealing with the loss of his brother at the start of the season and was last on the depth chart at forward, whether the reason was mental or due to ability. Boisvert is having a very good season at Pembroke, but if he decommited what are his current options? Is it possible that Maine wanted him to wait a year???? When you recruit kids so early changes in priority and need are always in a flux. We may never know and if Shore decide to go Major Junior we'll wonder if they might still go back to Boisvert. Only so many scholarships to go around.

I emailed Boisvert and the team and no one has gotten back to me...I am going to try again tomorrow. I talked to someone who covers the CCHL and he said hes still committed and showed me a link to College Hockey Inc showing he was still committed. Although I want another source to confirm that.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

I can confirm Boisvert is no longer heading to Maine. Maine wanted him to do another year of juniors and both parties decided to go their separate ways.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

will be interesting to see who maine uses as a junior feeder now that trembley is out at monarchs

Thanks...and I can understand Boisvert for not wanting to do another year...he'll find a College,a few in Hockey East come to mind: Vermont/PC.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Where's Tremblay heading? Hopefully Maine goes to recruiting almost solely out of Canada.

Going to be running the New England Huskies, who will be renamed the Middlesex Islanders in the EJ

Will still skate out of Tyngsboro as Warriors wouldnt let them move to Merrimack. Islanders are the ones building the new facility at Merrimack. They will have programs from learn to skate through EJ now

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

interesting... is he going to be a part owner? given he is the gm and coach of a successful team, i'm just curious as to the carrot that has led him to make the jump...

speaking of the ej, i had heard rumors that the jr. pirates were possibly buying the glades... any knowledge of that?

Pecararo trying out for USNTDP; Boisvert opts out of Maine
By Nathan Fournier Published: 1st March 2012

2014 Maine recruit Liam Pecararo is getting the chance tryout for Team USA.

The 15-year-old forward of the Boston Advantages Under-18 team will head out to Ann Arbor, Mich., starting the week of March 19th for USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program’s evaluation camp for the 2012-13 Under-17 team.

“Liam is a ’96 birth year that’s playing under-18 hockey,” said Joe Bracken, one of Boston Advantages’ under-18 team coaches. “He’s playing against (players) two-three years older than him. It has been a good year for him to have to battle against guys that are bigger and stronger.”

I heard Tremblay will be taking over the New England Huskies program (EJHL), but nothing is official.
