Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

If rumours are true Maine will be losing something in the next 10 days and it's not a game, attendance, or fans. :D

Nyquist to the Red Wings system or another recruit?

I see around 10 wins for the Black Bears this season. How bad is that!!

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Ha. If Nyquist left this team would likely finish with 3-4 wins.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Aubut had a nifty shot also...good hands for a blue-liner

Yes,Metcalf for sure.

And I'll add Andre Aubut,The Pride of Laval, not that anyone but us old-timers ever saw him play...(Too bad for you kids!)He was the best skating D-man I've ever seen in a Maine uniform.

More than any other player-with the very possible exception of Gary Conn-he vaulted Maine into D-1 when nobody thought they could make that jump.

He's gone,but he's not forgotten.

"rumours"...with that spelling, is it an exile to Canada ?

Is Blake James still putting in his name for other AD jobs ?

if watching timmay's coaching job isn't painful enough... now i get to be tortured by "i wonder what the rumour is?" thoughts for the next week and a half

No matter what it may or may not be.....UMaine Hockey program is still in a MESS.

Well, my guess would be Nyquist. It would be a shame but I would certainly understand.

I was aghast to see Maine's record for the year 2009 so far. I mean, you know it's bad, but then you see the numbers and... wow. I think there's not much sense in dumping on Whitehead anymore, his record speaks volumes for the job he's doing so I won't waste anyone's time commenting on that any further.

Being in Europe, its hard to catch the games with the time difference but I appreciate reading everyone's posts regularly. Please keep them coming.

Anyone have some thoughts on this weekend's game? I'll throw out 4-3 Cats as much as it pains me to do so.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Let's hope the rumor is timmay is gone versus nyquist.

just saw paul kariya at the hotel. They were getting ready to leave and paul stayed until all the kids got an autograph and was very humblel. Makes you want to rewind to 93 when Maine was still a school with a hockey program.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

If Timmay were to leave, would it be fair to say "Maine's loss is Maine's gain?"

"At the rate things are going, Nyquist appears destined to leave college after his junior year, similar to Jimmy Howard and Justin Abdelkader. "

Just speculation but it doesn't seem like he is expected to leave this season.

I think ChiefWahoo was implying a Whitehead departure but I don't see that happening either.
