Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

How about that Maine football team losing to Albany? Blew a 16-0 lead at the half. Jack is such a great coach.

Almost as good as Whitehead!

Jack probably told them to not take any chances, and conserve their energy for the second half.

Now Maine gets to get embarrassed by Syracuse next week. 3-1 wouldn't have been that bad heading into the conference schedule. With the way Jack runs the offense they might not win a game the rest of the way.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Just go up to former FOMH Presidents and former volunteer workers and you'll get a EAR-FUL and lets put it isn't FAVORABLE to Whitehead..............it's really SOUR..........and thats putting it mildly....but don't just read into the ending...talk to these peole first hand and it will make you SOUR also......time for CHANGE.....

details, my friend, details.

and sandiego, you are right... the powers above Blake and Tim are not interested in ditching them right off.
people have made cases to Kennedy: from current and former players, parents, members of friends, hockey staff, season ticket holders and MANY alumni.

whether it falls on deaf ears, or not remains to be seen, but the ears that it falls on, certainly are not willing to pull any triggers any time soon.

maybe he is thinking of all the money they saved once they did not have to pay for Grant's plane fare and hotel rooms once that "useless" volunteer assistant decided not to volunteer another year.

(oh and you might want to hear the crap that the good people at Lowell are saying now about how Maine took their problem off their hands)

heck, talk to Derek Arnold and his family and ask THEM why they chose to reneg on the verbal commitment

Sometimes I wonder what goes on inside Jack's head or if anything does.

Their is no way Tim gets let go while under contract, get over it, it ain't happening as long as the state owes him money

The big money alums (Kariya, Snow, Dunham, Carney, Nonis, etc) must not really give a sh*t then.

I tried to send you a private message via your rep and hit return too soon.

anyhow, you are wrong about how much the big money alumni care/don't care.

Can't they buy out his remaining contract then? It's time for them to go to the media and bypass the inept UMaine President and Administration.

In Normal years I'd be chomping at the bit for any Maine hockey, even the blue white game, this year not sure I even want to go. is this attitude throughout the fan base?

Can't wait for the season to start....BUT....I do not have very high expectations this season like I use to have in the Walsh's team era...my biggest concern is how badly this program has gone down in just a short period of time...with that you have alot of fans who are also tired of the BS that is going on behind the bench...in the A.D. office........the excuses over and over...and just talk of what they'll do in the BDNews......get back to the way Maine played Hockey....hard work,gritty....never say die...players in shape and proud to wear the UM sweater...using Alfond Arena as the ace in the hole....NOBODY wanted to play Maine at the Alfond....and the bottom line when you came to play for Maine...you played to WIN Championships not to just win 14 games and come in at either 7th or 8th in Hockey East.......

if the past few years are an indicator, none of those things are going to happen except the excuses and talk in the BDN

I can't believe this... it is soooo sad. :(

I don't see much changes from last year's history happening either. I am sure the players who have left in the past few years are not crying right now... at least not as far as hockey development is concern...

get back to the way Maine played Hockey....hard work,gritty....never say die...players in shape
I saw Maine 3 or 4 times last season and thought these attributes were there. Too many grinders though. A goal scorer or two, a few puck moving d-men, and a shut down goaltender would go a long way in boosting this team. Come to think of it, the last few years Maine looks a lot like Lowell circa 1996-2001.

Goal scorer or two:
Diamond, Leidermark

Puck moving d-men:
Pryor, O'neil, Dimmen

A shut down goaltender would be nice though.

I wouldn't call the past few years an indicator. It is a trend that has turned into the norm. Like you Wally, I haven't given much thought to Maine Hockey this summer nor am I even close to being as excited as in the past. It's kinda like being a KC Royals or Baltimore fan in baseball.

If everything comes together, and I do mean everything, I think the talent is capable of a 4th place finish in HE. But, thats in a perfect world...which iznt happening with Timbo at the helm. I believe 1/3 into the season he'll manage to phck up whatever chemistry, momentum, confidence these kidz might develop on their own.

So I'm forecasting a 4th place finish with Tim getting run out of town by the new year just on general principle :D

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

They'll probably start off like last season, all excited and ready to play, they had a jump in their step and were aggressive all over the ice. They hustled, and if they lost the puck, they went right after the other team to get it back.

Then TIMMAY coached it all out of them so by December they were so afraid of making a mistake they couldn't do anything. Laid back and waited for the other team, instead of going after them.

TIMMAY hockey in a nutshell. Don't take any chances; if you aren't sure you have a play, fall back and regroup; don't hustle, conserve your energy; don't get too excited.

Out here in fanland, we're just taking TIMMAY's coaching advice, conserving our energy, and not getting too excited. It's a long season after all.
