Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

I was being serious. They can make additional tickets available at a student discount$ once the student section fills up, to try to fill the empty seats. Some $ is better than no $

Students don't pay for tickets.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Actually they do.......indirectly of course.

Well, right. But the fact that it is spread out in fees and not paid per ticket used by individual students eliminates the economic incentive to provide more students to tickets.

Of course, it provides many other benefits, but I was just shooting down his point.

Can't y'all just feel the excitement building for this season?!?!

You can tell Maine hockey fans are excited about the upcoming season. Look at all the activity in this thread, dry land training has started and no one cares:p I'm shocked at this;)

Has their been a Nick Pryor sighting on campus? Is he is school?

We're just trying to follow the example set by our esteemed head coach TIMMAY Whitehead.

Someone on here must be in school or still have FirstClass that can check that.

Every Fall the men's hockey team competes in the Run for Hope 5K ( a charity road race). This year the number of road racers were down with the hockey team dominating the top 25 finishers. The fastest Maine player was red shirt freshmen Mark Nemec running 20 minutes and small change (6:30 per mile pace). Not to shabby of a time. The winner was in the 16 to 17 minute category. He was in the top 5 as I recall. It's always fun to see who the fastest player is over 5k (3.1 miles).:D

Its kind of early yet to rate players...give them time on the ice and then check it all out at the B/W game on Oct.4th then look it over again when they open their home sked. v Michigan State....alot can happen in 4-6 weeks. IMO only.

I keep coming back here every fall and see what's up. I hope it isn't another of these years where it's like I enjoy banging the wall with my head, because it feels so good when I stop. :D

I did see those UMaine TV ads over the summer that highlighted a young up-and-coming hockey team, but I'll believe it when I see it. ;)

Black Bears go mountain climbing. It's good to hear David De Kastrozza say that this team is in better shape over teams the last couple of years. I think he's right.;)
