Re: Maine Off Season 2011

Check rep

Back in the day, I was annoyed with the FL tournament because it seemed more like a vacation than the mid-season test against good nonconference teams that it was supposed to be. It was hit or miss whether Maine would really show up.

But you can say that about a lot of Maine games these days, so what's the difference? Answer: expensive airfare

The only other way I'll ever see Maine again is if they make a sudden turnaround and start getting back to the FF. Uh huh, right......

Re: Maine Off Season 2011

Drinking wasn't the cause, was it:D

i think the glasses fell out of my pocket when i was taking something else out... as for the cc, if i didn't lose it as a result of alcohol on wednesday night, than i can't blame it for happening on saturday night....

Yeah, but Wednesday, you were still relatively fresh. After four straight days, by Saturday, you were probably pretty worn down, and so not quite on top of your game.

In unrelated matters, it sure would be nice if Maine had a coach who could win the Spencer Penrose trophy.

Oh, wait. Sorry, my bad. :(

Re: Maine Off Season 2011

Any news of renovating the head coach? :D
Oh we'll see some changes from the start and then by say Nov.15th things will start to be the same old/same old...then come December while in a losing streak the excuses will come out...then comes the usual Holiday Tourney SWOON and the well this/well that....IF/if/if....and next thing you know no home ice for QF's and a chance of not making the Hockey East playoffs....again we can make the NCAA's if we win the QF's and go to Boston and sweep the pair to get the Auto-Bid from Hockey East...and then we will look and its Regional Time and instead of preparing for more hockey...it will be who's playing on TV while Maine sits AGAIN and the usual again....................fill in the blanks. Renovating Maine Hockey: DUMP Whitehead.

anyone would be nuts to think that they are going to do well before December with TWO USHL skaters and a bunch of Monarchs and Empire league and EJ skaters.

The future of Maine hockey IS now

Re: Maine Off Season 2011

I sure hope that the ALumni assn. and friends of Maine hockey want money from me, ever again. They know what needs to be done in order to get it.

It's the STANDARD Blue-Print for TW.....remember when Maine Hockey WAS......and nuts...? better believe it....!!!

Re: Maine Off Season 2011

Get ready for the phone call and the 3-4 letters....another Blue-Print.

I am with ya... but in my opinion, Joey Diamond is the very last great recruit who will be fooled by all of the frozen fours and the color of the jersey while Timmy is there. Everyone else has parents, advisors and coaches who know full well what happens if they CHOOSE Maine.

RENOVATE Maine Hockey: Dump Whitehead.....with that said do you really think that Abbott will stand by Whitehead very long..? Is there anyone out there now 100% behind TW..? If Blodgett can be fired, then there's no reason to believe that TW can survive with a losing record next season along with another NO NCAA appearence...imo,factor in season ticket decline/less money donated by the average fan/to the deep pocket donors/less exposure on TV...well time will tell us by next spring.

I tried getting that ball rolling a couple years ago... telling people NOT to renew their season tickets making sure to tell the athletic dept. exactly why. It would not have taken a rocket surgeon to do the math (lost ticket sales>Tim's salary+cost of a search) and come to the correct conclusion regarding what was best for Maine hockey. Blake had no interest in helping the program, he helped his friend.

oh, look a soap box....
Kindof like how things work in Washington... help your friends, no matter what it does to the country.
I hope you all go see Atlas Shrugged soon... don't worry about the plot and story lines, listen to the message and try to see Barney Frank and the rest of Washington...
off the soapbox
