Re: Maine Black Bears, 2010-2011, Redemption or FORE, I say......

This is one of my favorite group of guys also.

And of all the nights in their careers where they put in the effort to entertain the fans, this was THEIR night.

Great point but I get the impression the people that have done this are not exactly big thinkers. They either won't touch this point at all or will fail terribly trying to spin this in another direction. I agree with your whole rant here.

Bingo! Small-minded shut-ins... and to "stage" this on Senior Night? What a bunch of ****ing dopes...

But it's ALWAYS about TIMMAY!

I think that this was a good night to get everyone's attention.......seems that it worked.

I agree. There is nothing wrong with this team except the head guy behind the bench. They need to add some depth, and a bit more talent on D........but give this team to York, Dick or Satan......and this team wins 25 games and finishes Top 2 in HE, no question.

They were already in a lather, so what difference does that make?

Penner to LA Kings. Howard gets a new contract. With Conklin clearing waivers its possible Bishop is a filltime NHLer.

Sorry Greg Moore's from Philly back to the Blue Jackets.

Might be a good thing for Greg, Flyers are wealthy at forward.

Attention for attention's sake is silly. I don't think anyone out there doesn't realize that Whitehead is a polarizing figure. There is a time and a place for everything, and on Senior Night, with an interim president and AD who can't make any changes, it wasn't the time to do it.

Thanks for the update. Saw Dustin's press conference on NHL.com and as a Kings fan it is nice to have a Black Bear back on the Kings. What I love about NHL players is there sense of humor. Said he was playing ping pong and losing to Horcoff when the trade news came in, so it saved him $50!

And good news for Jimmy, 4.5 for two and Dustin will make 4.5 next year. Jimmy is in good shape for next 2 years and will be set up for a big raise in 2 years at about the same time we all hope Gus is scoring goals for him!

And let's hope Greg gets a shot the last 2 months of the season!

I hope that MANY of us can make the 2 treks out to Amherst this weekend to support our boys.

Let's be there and be loud for them!!!

The last time Maine played their final regular season games in Amherst, things did not go very well.

Rachel Lenzi said:
Sullivan is finally sporting his new mask, after wearing a blank white mask earlier this season and wearing Shawn Sirman's old mask for a stretch.

Sullivan's mask sports a bear partially cloaked in a suit of armor (think Terminator Bear) on the right side, while on the left side there's a portrait of Shawn Walsh and images of Paul Kariya, Mike Dunham and Garth Snow.

Above the cage there's a blue and white sketch of Alfond Arena and on the back plate is an aquamarine guardian angel.

Pretty awesome. Also told Lenzi Howard's one of his "goaltending idols"

With this goaltending..?

I'm thinking "top-three",even with Scotty Bowman behind the bench.

That place always seems to be a house of horrors, I'm hoping they're on break so that its alitlle less obnoxious in there. If the team plays the way they did this last weekend, Maine will smoke them both nights. Win or lose they're PWR probably goes down

Re: Maine Black Bears, 2010-2011, Redemption or FORE, I say......

Where's priceless? He must have worked out the PWR scenarions for Maine over the next week or two...

I've been at the Alfond and watched this team convincingly destroy both of the top two teams (BC and ND) in the national rankings so I don't know why they'd have any trouble being ranked right up there with them if they were led by a competent coach. We've seen what they are capable of, they just need a coach who will demand that THAT TEAM shows up and THAT EFFORT happens every night, or at least almost every night.

If he's not posting them its probably bad. I'm no math whiz but if Maine wins and it lowers RPI, it's removed correct? Certainly we could lose ground if other teams win against TUCs, shouldn't lose ground on common opponents by winning. Seems like the best thing right now is to hope BU and RPI lose. Seems like having some of these ridiculous ECAC teams fall off the TUC cliff would help too but I have no actual evidence to back that up. I'm assuming its going to be as unpredictable as its been in years because of the new TUC cliff.
