anyone think that last years penalty plagued playoff series will carry over this year? Diamond will probably get tossed with Bigos.

Merrimack was good once. Just not at the D-1 level.

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

There was no handshake last night after the game. Coaches did but the players went straight to the locker room. First time ever at a college game that any of us can recall no handshake. Just roughly, three of us figured we've seen 400-500 college games in total.

There was a big scrum after the OT ended. A lot of pushing, shoving, a glove or two to the face. Did they bag the handshake over short fuses?

That's why. Maine and BU rarely shook hands :p

Anyone know the line-ups for tonight's game against at Merrimack?

Program is such a joke.

Kind of funny this year that Coach Whitehead teams up with UMaine's Human Sexuality professor to publish a book on how to play hockey because the longer he sticks around it's only the fans and the taxpayers that are getting screwed! Bad joke, but I couldn't resist. I hope that book doesn't factor into any decision to keep him.

6-0. What a proud, proud program Maine is.

Haven't even been listing to the game and just checked the score... 6-0 so sad...

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

6-0. A complete shellacking. 1 goal in 6 periods this weekend. It's worse than pathetic. It's sad. So Sad to see a former National Power program be decimated and ruined. Can we go back to Friday's USCHO story on Maine/Whitehead and scream? It is now highly highly probable that the Black Bears don't make the Hockey East playoffs. Mid January and it's highly probable, almost definite. So...to bring this to it's logical conclusion, A.D. Abbott will now have a decision to make. And if he's smart, he'll do it sooner rather than later. Not a tough one in most of our minds. There's absolutely no argument to be made to keep this dillusional passive mealy-mouth behind the bench. This is insane. "A disastrous evening for the Black Bears!" as Bryan Roche or Cody Beckett just announced.

Is no one OUTRAGED at this? Are Maine Hockey fans not ready to riot? I feel like Howard Beal. "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more."

So much for that crucial 3 game stretch that could make or break the season. Heavy emphasis on break. Sigh.

The refs can opt to not allow it for that reason.
