Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

And how many goals has BC given up?

Maine's given up 53 and BC has given up 47. BC has also played a much tougher OOC schedule with games against Notre Dame, MN, Dartmouth, Yale and AL Hunstville while Maine has played Notre Dame, Quinnipiac, Army, St Lawrence X 2, MN Duluth, Cornell and Mercyhurst X2. BC's also played BU 3 times.

What is this gay obsession you have with Maine hockey? BC is a great club. Maine is having a monumentally crappy year. We get that, we're all well aware of those facts. We don't need you parading around like some Comm Ave hockey savant.

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

Between the two they have 3 goals in 37 games I wouldn't even call that from time to time.
I'm talking about just showing up to play. No one on this team is scoring right now. At least those guys have given the appearance that they care.

Anthoine hasn't lived up to last year, that's for sure.

this is not really much of a surprise... most of his goals came on the powerplay last season (iirc 11 goals to tie for the nations most), but that was on a more prolific powerplay unit with more offensively gifted players...

So now Maine hockey has resorted to Little League standards. All we're looking for is the boys to come to play hard, give everything they got, etc. Coach Whitehead is such a great coach because he gets these boys to play hard. God, this is getting to be pathetic some of the excuses.

It's more disgust with the guys who aren't even bothering to show up, but please, keep putting words in my mouth.

Would you at least admit it is Whitehead's fault for the guys not playing hard? He's ultimately in charge of recruiting guys who will be good hockey players, good character, good in class room, committed to winning, etc. He's failed. He's also failed on motivating his players on a consistent basis. Compare the BC game to some of the other clunkers. Yes, they lost that BC game to a far superior team, but they skated hard.

At least one upperclassmen shows up, good to see Marty played well again. Is there a JR or SR forward that is playing well this season? the silence says it all

C'mon, Beattie was MVP of the Florida tourney.

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

He's a defensemen
First off, he's a defenseman. So if it's a defenseman Priceless has in mind, based only on last night's performance for argument's sake, it's Rutt or Hutton.

-Hutton skated hard, no penalties, cleanly broke up at least 4 plays, skated more than his share of shifts, played the body...repeat played the body, acted like a leader.
-Rutt was a total workhorse, no penalties, paired up well with Nemec or Hutton, and ok with O'Connor, played like he was sure of himself, acted like a leader. He was on the ice when the NEU goal was scored but given his ice time, he almost had a 50/50 chance anyway.

Assuming they stay at Maine, Hutton and Rutt are the lead duo for the next couple of years. Two very big boys. If only one was righthanded....
