I like your new found attitude.

Thank-you. Sometimes, you just need to admit defeat and go with the flow. :)

If he's good enough for Ferguson....and Abbott......and Alfond.........then he's good enough for me. I am still worried about declining attendance and revenue, but I think that has more to do with the economy and high ticket prices than it has to do with the on-ice product.

Here's something to be proud of:

Re: Bottom-Feeders Bracket; Road to "FutileFour" team selection process

Freddie's Arbitrary Ranking of Teams that Suck (FARTS) is back in operation. The committee found a drunken youper as a suitable substitute for the deceased spider monkey; altho she was lacking in dexterity.

If the season ended today, the tournament field would look like this:

1. Sacred Heart
2. Alabama-Huntsville
3. Army
4. American International
5. Alaska-Anchorage
6. Canisius
7. Bemidji State
8. Penn State
9. Bentley
10. Northeastern
11. Michigan State
12. Harvard
13. RIT
14. Maine
15. Clarkson
16. Princeton

Changes from last week- RIT and Princeton are IN, and Minn-Duluth and Michigan are OUT.
If the committee decides to eliminate the "Atlantic Hockey Rule" (no team in the top 50% of it's league standings can get in), Mercyhurst would make the field, and Princeton would drop out. An executive decision is due later this coming week.

Michigan Tech, Michigan and Minnesota-Duluth are JUST outside the bubble, but none are so far back that they cant play their way back in.

Maybe we can move higher in the FARTS rankings with a little less effort!

maybe you wanna change your .sig?

Nope......need to remind myself of my sins.

I'm still having a hard time wondering why Priceless is so bitter toward me though and erased so many of my positive posts a couple of days ago. I have seen the err of my ways.......truce Priceless?

Just another example of the negativity that permeates this fan base. WE need to change our ways and start supporting this program......win or lose.

Supporting the program can take many forms. I think of the hiker out West a few years ago who fell and got his hand or arm stuck between two rocks. Doing nothing, he would have died. So he cut off the stuck part, tightened up a tourniquet, and survived. I am actively hoping that every game coached by Whitehead is a loss. I don't want to lose those games - it goes against the grain as a fan of Maine hockey - but I sincerely believe the only way to save what is left of a proud tradition is to get rid of Whitehead. And the worse he does, the more likely it is that he will be gone.

and just as Forsyth used to post the opposite of what he thought, in order to get people to post what he was really thinking, and make themselves into the bad guys... sandiego is doing the same... saying the opposite of what he thinks, in order to get others to say exactly why a true fan wants the team to succeed in the long run... and a true fan understands that just squeaking into the HEA tournament is not succeeding.

and to get guys like redo to spell out what happens when players come into camp out of shape and where their injuries come from.

i wonder what would happen if someone put together a "buy out the contract" petition make up of people who are not currently season ticket holders who would buy season tickets and join friends of Maine hockey, IF AND ONLY IF timmy is bought out.

lots of posts have been moderated lately.
I have contacted a few of the sponsors to let them know of my displeasure, and whether I will be patronizing them due to priceless's actions

I agree with you. There has been so much divisiveness over the past several threads. It's time for true Maine fans to unite and support the program.

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

Appears as though Garrett Vermeersch and Drew Ellement will not be playing this weekend at the Alfond. Two very good players who are injured. Garrett violated team rules while recovering from an injury and has been suspended indefinitely. Hope to see Ellement, but he might not be ready by this weekend.

I feel like at this point a new coach is the only thing that could bring everyone together. I'm not a Timmy hater either.

This is good news for Coach Whitehead and the team..........I'm hoping that Maine can sneak into the playoffs and do some damage. Would also like to see an extension in the off-season........if not, it will really hurt recruiting over the summer.

Who decides what or who is a true Maine fan?

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

No one decides it. A true Maine fan wants the team to win and does not wish for them to lose.

when you hope to win the lottery, do you buy a ticket first?

or do you just hope that someone starts pouring money into your bank account without your first doing the minimum to make winning possible?

What the hell is going on up there? Check your homes/autos for carbon monoxide leaks. This thread is getting pretty weird.

Yes, and making the NCAA tournament once over the past 6 years hasn't hurt? Winning one game at home ALL year won't hurt? Sneaking into the Hockey East tournament will help? If they happen to "sneak" into the playoffs, they will have to play at BC, New Hampshire, Merrimack, Providence, Lowell, or BU. Good luck doing damage in arenas that you have won in 5 or 6 times total over the past 4-5 years. Would love to see them do it, but chances are not on our side. In no way does Tim Whitehead deserve a contract extension nor should he get one after his season. And in no way will recruiting be hurt anymore than it currently is if his contract is not extended and he returns next season.
