Its hard for me to fathom anyone who doesn't appreciate Mr Tony
The whole ESPN now a days has changed to not so much sports reporting to Hollywood Plus and then the sports story's...but hey to each his own...

Agreed. PTI is the best of a terrible bunch. Everything on ESPN is soap operaized. They don't discuss a game in a sports context- you never hear a breakdown of how a 2-2-1 press caused a team to lose, for example. You only get off the field "Can Kobe get along with Dwight Howard?" and puff pieces. The highlights have even been squeezed out of Sportscenter for cross-promotion of ESPN events and paid in show advertising.

Unless it's a live sporting event, I don't watch a second of ESPN anymore.

ORONO, Maine -- Always wanted a chance to sit in the balcony during a University of Maine men's ice hockey game? Well here is your chance. With students expected to be gone for spring break, the University of Maine is selling limited balcony seats while supplies last.

The balcony seats will be available for Maine's games on March 1 and 2 against Northeastern. The tickets, which are $19, can be purchased at the Maine ticket office or by calling 207-581-BEAR or 1-800-756-TEAM. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.Goblackbearstickets.com(.)

For those who wish to experience a unique experience this is the place to be. I'm sure there will be enough students present so that you will be able to learn the chants.:) Just an exciting place to be. The students might even share some of there candy with you.

but with NU in last place, it will not be all that easy get the FULL balcony experience including kicking sodas down onto the away fans/parents.

pity.

so now maine cannot even "sell out" the free seats

also, on that note, I just looked at some attendance statistics from 2007 and it appears that Maine is reporting the same attendance now as then. even though the place has half as many butts in the seats. (back then if your ticket said row x, seat y, you pretty much had to sit there.... nowadays you can pretty much sit where you want.... like at Merrimack back in 2007.

I think eight or 10 years ago they switched from number of people who turned up to 'tickets sold'. It would be interesting to see the true attendance figures.

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

I'm waiting for them to pay me to attend a game.

I think I posted this on here before, but I went to Bentley to see Matt Lundin play for Mercyhurst.
The ticket was about $3, if I recall correctly and everyone in attendance could have all the pizza and soda they wanted as part of the admissions price.

I might go see Bently play Sacred Heart this Friday night just to have a bench mark, plus I wanna see the kid from Bentley who is supposed to be one of the top players in the country.

Don't hold your breath on Gensler. He is good, but not that good.

All you have to do is attend the games and see: ATTENDENCE is down....the numbers are a game with the "U"....they will skew it every which way,to fit there fancy. Fix the products Coach and bet there is a increase in Attendence in the next 3 years...oh well. Forget about it...right..?

I'm in the same boat with my local D-3 team... They sell a lot of no-show corporate season-tickets, so half the time they announce a sellout when there are a bunch of obviously empty seats.

Maybe the guys who engineer such farces have never read "The Emperor's New Clothes"?

The Good Old Days of George Grand,Lou Palmer, the late Tom Mees,Gayle Gardner,Bob Lee and to a lesser extent and the younger version of Chris Berman...when it was a real Sports UPDATE.
