Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

On Saturday, January 27th 2001, Brian Gionta scored 4 goals against Maine in the 1st period alone and added another one to make it 5 goals in one game. He was held scoreless the night before. No assists on the weekend for 5 total points, all goals.
He scored all 5 in the 1st period. I was sitting behind that net it actually became funny once he hit 4.

Revo. Really, you think Maine is gonna score 3 goals. Bwahaaaahahaahahahahhahahah ;)

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

Hey guys, can you give me an answer about a UMaine player? I think he only played one year about 5 or 6 years ago. I think he was a very high draft choice, possibly first round. Total stud.

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

be careful when you try to schedule the cupcakes to get those 5 wins... Mercyhurst might not just roll over

Mercyhurst..? I think not!

I'm planning on UAH four times at home, two club teams, then paying-off the refs for a weekend against Sacred Heart.

Should be five wins in there somewhere.

(PS: BC 7, Maine 2 for the weekend series... Timmy will game-plan his head off to keep both losses "respectable".)

Next season they go to a 20 game slate in Hockey East and that leaves 14 OOC games...it used to be Maine could pick and choose who they could matchup with...now it will be the other teams figuring...do we play Maine,is it worth it and for sure make them travel now instead of going up to Alfond...the Big Ten won't look Maine's way/the NCHC won't travel to Maine/neither will the revamped WCHA,that leaves some of the ECAC/AHA Teams to get games from...and they must have some pre-arranged games over a 2-3 yr period...but IF TW still around and the scary thought is he may well be...he can always sell this: We will be in the Hockey East Playoffs next season(as all teams make it in/maybe that was the TW rule in place...?)

I dunno. BC sometimes plays to the level of their competition. It's been 10 years since these two programs were in the FF 2 out of every 3 years . . . so I don't think you can count on current players getting up for Maine. It's not like there's any rivalry.

BC sweeps, with one game closer than it should be, and the other one a laugher. 9-2 aggregate.

Maine will have two "good" periods out of six. The rest of the time they will be either on their heels defending or they will be playing "chase the puck"...either that dump and watch game they have been playing, or turning and chasing the BC guys when they get left for dead in the neutral zone after a turnover...

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

But he's a young kid. He shouldn't be scoring goals until he's a senior. TIMMAY told me so.
...because it takes time to develop these young players into scorers and get the offense going.

Timmy, what the **** do you think these kids have been doing since they were put on skates at 3 yrs of age? Shooting, scoring, hitting the back of the net. Then they get to Camp Timmy and they have to learn how to do it all over, his way. Ah Marrone!

the "good" in "two good periods" will be defined by maine out shooting BC when BC already has a lead.
Jerry is going to have his boys allow maine to shoot from the perimeter and NEVER get a sniff at the crease, all the shots from the perimeter will be seen as Maine having an advantage, while Jerry will actually have Timmy right where he wants him.

I am with ya.
I think Huntsville played Oklahoma, i am sure Timmy can make something up about the Oklahoma sports tradition and how it is a real accomplishment beating them

there were a lot of people laughing... you must remember the 5th goal [edit... oops that was apparently the 4th goal].. Gionta did not even really shoot the puck, it just kinda rolled off his stick at about 5 mph and went in before the end of the period

Call me crazy...I'm ready. Maine will some how squeek out a split. BC has a few injuries (who doesn't) but I think we can get a W. TW still needs to vanish though and program needs a facelift.
